A lot more. Has shown absolutely no interest in recruiting other than public knowledge that is already being discussed here. He has acknowledged he has no interest in it. He is a lazy reporter/beat writer.
Unfair and ad hominum. The thread is about the early signing period. Zim reported that he found no new signings out of his reporting. Attacking a guy's work ethic gets pretty personal.
Pretty much. I dont think people are expecting a whole blog based on recruiting, but like you said. Terry would give nuggest and his tuesday tibits, the back of the notebook stuff he would share. Zims articles are not an issue. He is a good writer, does a lot of good things. Maybe Zim once he has better engrained himself in SDSU connects and such. When he would write his week that was blog, sometimes it was just to much to read at a time. Maybe I perfered Terrys couple paragraphs.Seemed like with his articles and blog posts that Terry would fit recruiting bits in there. Just felt like Terry would pass on the recruiting info in those ways. Oh well. Not that its a huge issue really if Zim never does. It would not be the end of the world if he never looks at the recruiting side of it.
You know he could give tid bits of info in his blog about recruits instead of say writing about the Golden Retrievers or whatever his flag football team was.
Another thing, just because something posted on Twitter doesn't mean the entire fan base knows about it. I dont have and never will have twitter so regurgitating that info is valuable.
Really doesnt bother me that he doesn't report it but understand why some do.
Here is article on the Chicago area recruit who could be a football player instead of basketball. 6'8" 285# PF Love-Vollbrecht who has an offer from the SDSU MBB http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburb...109-story.html

I guess I don't understand why people are so xenophobic over here on this forum. For one, I've had 97 posts on this board in the past 3 years, and I bet not even half of them (just a guess) are about me pushing anything involving Augustana athletics. I've contributed opinions on SDSU's team (which, hey, since I'm from Sioux Falls, happens to be of interest to me too...weird right?), non-Augie-related recruiting news, and general opinions on the constant "anti-Zimmer" threads that start up every few months.
If I just signed up with some random SDSU username in a week or two and started posting as a Jacks fan, I have a feeling at least a decent number of my posts would be well-received (besides the pro-Augie ones, obviously, as anyone--Augie fan or SDSU fan--with a pro-Augie comment on here usually gets bashed/insulted/told to shut up/etc. fairly quickly).
Like I said, I don't understand the xenophobic, "Go back to your own place, freak" attitude so many of your posters seem to adhere to. Do dissenting opinions irritate you all that much that you'd rather just try to insult me off the board instead of engaging in a conversation? There were some good points made in that Scott Nagy thread in the Smack forum that I actually appreciated reading. Thoughtful, logical responses that gave me a better insight about SDSU athletics. Why is that such a rarity compared to the, "Shut up, your opinion doesn't matter because you support a school that isn't the same division as us" response?
I would consider it a point if your favor if you attempted to refrain from spamming your preferred subject on threads with little or no direct relation to your own pet subject.
There are other sections of the board where a thread on that subject would be appropriate, if you so wish to initiate one.

Thank you.
Oh for goodness' sake. My "own pet subject?" Augie was brought up in the Nagy thread and I responded to that post about Augie. Did the conversation eventually spin off from there in a direction different from the thread topic? Yes. But my initial post in that Nagy thread wasn't, "SDSU should play Augie," and you know that. I'll admit, I did post a comment that moved the conversation toward my "pet subject" as you call it, but that's because one of your SDSU posters addressed the issue first. It's not like I just pop up in random threads and say "SDSU should play Augie." That's a weak sauce accusation.
As far as me referencing that same topic in this current thread, yes, I confess, I did it as a joke to illustrate how redundant a weekly "Zimmer isn't doing his job right" thread is. If anything, I was mocking myself and the fact that the Augie/SDSU thing got out of control on the Nagy thread. I wasn't trying to initiate the same topic on this thread, and seeing as the conversation (appropriately) didn't move that direction at all, I can only assume other people got the joke/reference as well. Thankfully.
Shouldn't you also be criticizing the people on here who went from talking about the NCAA Early Signing Period to complaining (for what is now the third or fourth thread on this topic overall) about the lack of a preferred type coverage from SDSU's Argus Leader beat writer? Or am I the only one "spamming my preferred subject on threads with little direct relation to my own pet subject?"

I am lost in this dialogue. I thought it was about Norwegians who have allegiance to Augustana.

Good point. I should probably check with filbert to make sure I wasn't supposed to start a new thread to address his comment, since my response clearly isn't on topic with the NCAA Early Signing Period. Is that how that works?
I have been away from this thread for a couple days, and silly me, I was hoping to come back and read something about the NCAA Early Signing Period. Ugh.
The Zen philosopher Basha once wrote, 'A flute with no holes, is not a flute. A donut with no hole, is a Danish.'

The Early Signing Period deals with recruiting. The talk about the beat writer dealt with how much information he should provide about recruiting. Sounds connected to me.
Here's a PG for next year that the Jacks have had some interest in recently. http://www.goreivers.com/sports/play...all_m&int=2395. Played at Eden Prairie in the Twin Cities. Pass first kid that would be a nice fit as a JUCO. Of course, I think Gentry has a TON of upside to him so who knows. Still not sure there is another PG on the roster for next year.
Not so sure he's a pass first PG but who cares. People mention pass first PG as if that's the only way a team will win. I just googled score first PG's and the names Rose, Westbrook, Deron Williams, Irving, Parker and a kid named Curry were at the top of the list. I also googled pass first PG's and the names Magic, Stockton, Isiah Thomas, Kidd and Paul were at the top of the list. Teams win with both, in fact the last two championships were won with shoot first PG's Parker and Curry. Give me a either, however I don't want a PG who can't score or shoot.
