I agree, a lot of forced up shots when he is being tripled teamed. The other guys have to get into positions to help him out though.

      Final: SDSU 68, NDSU 58.

Jacks and Bison are now tied in the SL race with 3 games to go.

Jacks had all five starters in double figures. Marshall with 20 points. Larson finished with 11 and 12.

Jacks were +14 on the glass.

Jacks played like crap for most of the game and won by 10. Lawrence Alexander flew past his season average and had 3 assists on the game. What a player.

Its a little late to be telling him this. 3 regular games plus the summit tourney and his career is over.

LA might not get a ton of assists, but man he hit some tough shots and has in the couple other games I've seen of the Bison. Alexander has been hot particularly lately and the Bison have needed every bit of his scoring to win a lot of their games this year. Bison are in trouble if he has an off night in the tourney.

LA finished with 24 points on 8-20 FG. He was 5-11 from deep.

Jacks really kept the Bison in the game with turnovers. Jacks had 13 turnovers and the Bison lead 15-0 in points off turnovers.

Jacks really dominated on the glass. +14 overall with 14 offensive rebounds. Impressive after they were manhandled by IUPUI on the glass last weekend. Rebounding really won the game for the Jacks.

Jacks were 10-18 from three. Nice to see Telly hit a couple including a huge one late to put them up 6.

Jacks were 8-14 from the line. Bison were 7-9.

Oh, and Kory Brown played 18 minutes and had 0 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 turnovers and 1 steal.

I have a feeling these teams will meet on March 10th...

You are not kidding. Did he even go to the bench? Can he do it for three games in four (or possibly three) days? One off night for him in Sioux Falls and they are in huge trouble.

Larson was forcing things after he got frustrated. His defensive presence can not be discounted, however. Then there is the rebounding. He's a difference maker., even when his shots are not falling.

It's awesome to see the Jacks get a double digit win on a night when Larson is missing nearly everything. Tonight it was Marshall in the first half and Parks/Bittle in the second. Lots of options.

I would have been dissappointed if we lost that one. Lots more talent for us.

Yes seemed like we had 10 chances to extend fron 5-6 pt lead and could never do it and Bison would answer with a spurt to knot it up again. Good good win against a really good team.

Summit Tourney is going to be great. And tense, and closely contested.

We hung on and that really matters in my book.
I saw George Marshall standing in the check out line at Hyvee last Thursday. I want to wish him good luck but was out of hearing range. I guess I did not need to do that has he seemed to be on course today. That LA is unbelievable and yes the Summit tourney will be tense and closely contested.

Remember a few years ago when Bison basketball experts always chirped that Nate was the only reason the Jacks won games. Honest question. If you take Alexander off this NDSU team, do they win one game? Heck, do they score 30 points?

There is no doubt that Alexander is a really good player and probably deserves to be Summit POY. It appears that the officials are treating him like he has already been awarded it - he got every call imaginable yesterday. And where were the Bison fans ? There had to be less than 100 , and you never heard anything from them. With a first place team playing on Saturday afternoon in good weather I was expecting a lot more.

He sure ended up on the floor a lot, whether shooting a 3 or driving. And no, he was never fouled hard enough to end up on the floor. Maybe he's majoring in acting. Hopefully officials are smart enough to see his acting jobs.
