I don't blame Matt Zimmer. He is a very good sports reporter who has too much to do. I do question coverage priorities set by newsroom managers at the Argus Leader, KELO, etc. There's no harm in reminding the media that the Jacks have the biggest fan base in South Dakota.

Considering that he's only been on the job 2 weeks,i think the jury's still out. Also,i don't know if anyone was "clamoring" for him as much as he was the best option at this time at the Argus.

Zimmer is not and never will be a Terry V. I suspect we will see someone assigned to SDSU full time soon. The really, really good thing about having Zimmer cover the Jacks is that we did not get Stu Whitney! I agree his focus is on the SF teams but when your playing your biggest rival and its for first place in the conf one would think it would warrant more coverage than the Argus / Zimmer is offering.

Keep winning and the coverage will get stronger. I don't intend to be a Zimmer bash'er but we were a little spoiled with what Terry V gave us.

agreed, about the lack of coverage since TV left... his (Z-man) allegiance is not with SDSU and it prob'y wasn't a good idea to ask him to split time cuz he is still invested in DII. I think it is a bad sign when BONO has to ask him to help with media coverage, only way to make our displeasure known is to stop following ARGUS and Zimmer, maybe if they hemorrhage followers they will take notice otherwise why would they care.

Checking out the track meet in SJAC before heading to Frost. Big crowd in here. Tons of athletes. This place looks way bigger in person. As a guy who ran track indoors at all the area venues 15 years ago, I'm very impressed.

I don't blame him either, but was anticipating his reaction. He might be more professional than what I painted him in my last post. If any one know about newspapers it's JimmyJack, who has more or less said, the newspaper for reading is dying way of life and will soon be a thing of the past. Its no doubt the Argus is going downward in circulation numbers. I have a e subscription which I seldom look at. I may be an old fart, but not hung up on the past. I got so many links on facebook that I get most of my news there. In fact TV's posts to facebook used to be links to his Argus articles, now they are just average joe comments not saying too much. I guess he is enjoying his new job.

You realize he's a reporter, right? He's not supposed to have "allegiance" to any school or team. His job is to remain independent.

Report from inside Frost. Large, slow line for Wolters T-shirts one hour before tipoff. Going to be a big crowd.

Kory Brown is out on the court doing some movement drills as the rest of the team shoots. He's definitely limping a little, but nothing drastic.

Stu Whitney isn't the sports editor any more. He writes about city issues. Someone else will make the call on the sports opening. Matt Zimmer would be a good permanent replacement on the SDSU beat if he's given adequate time to cover it.

Yeah, having the best defensive player in the league means nothing.
