  • GDT: SDSU vs NDSU First place on the line

Lawrence Alexander comes to town today. He brings a Bison team that has been on the top side of many close games. There are a few game wins that make LA more valuable to the Bison than Braun was to the Bison in the past. LA will probably get his scores. Hopefully the Jackrabbits can play the entire game like they played the last 25+ minutes of the first game. The Jackrabbits should have a winning appetite to bring the A game today. SDSU defense will bring LA and cast back to earth today. The weather should allow all to make the trip to Frost today and provide the support for the Jackrabbit MBB. The winning streak for the Jackrabbits continues today. Go Jacks!!

I am so excited to see this game in person. Looking to get there early and get good GA seats before the house fills up. This is where we start to see if thiis team can ramp up for big games and Summit Tourney. GBGBGJ!

Any idea when the doors open? I plan to be there at least an hour early to get a decent seat.

Parks has been doing a great job defensively. I assume he'll spend most of his time chasing Alexander around. If he is successful, we get a relatively comfortable win. The Bison rely on LA more than any other Summit team depends on a single player. He is the real deal.

The NDSU bench is extremely short but the starters have been coming up with JUST enough to win a pile of games. They do know how to finish a close one. I don't want to see this one go down to the wire.

Kory Brown is the NDSU defensive specialist. If he is out we will see second and third stringers guarding Marshall and Parks. Keep an eye on that situation.

Larson will definitely be the best center on the floor today. Will he come right out and play like it? Sometimes it takes him 10- 15 minutes to get going. If his shots fall early it will open up all kinds of scoring options for the others.

The norm for doors opening is 1 hour before tip.

First place is on the line and there is no preview story in the Argus Leader. That's disappointing. Regional media coverage of the Jacks is going down the toilet. Television coverage on KELO is especially bad. Thank goodness for the radio and this website.

The Bison survived OT in Denver on Thursday night. They should be ripe for a heavy fall. The Jacks seem to have the more talented starters. I'm not sure how bench strength compares.

Argus is in the stretch for coverage with Zimmer covering the Sioux Falls teams who have had successful seasons. They will give Summit coverage when there is a crowd in town for the tournament. Otherwise, what you see is what you get.

NDSU starting guard Kory Brown's status was to be determined last night, according to coach Dave Richman, as quoted in the Fargo Forum.

Assuming this was in yesterday's Argus?

I missed Matt Zimmer's blog. That counts as coverage, I guess.

That "article" WAS NOT in the Argus and only appeared online on Zimmer's blog, not a san Argus online article. A small "staff reports" third or fourth page final stat article for the women's win at ORU was in the Argus today with no mention that SDSU has been the only conference club to beat them at home. We're in a distant second place to Augie for attention from Zimmer at this time likely to move to third in the fall behind USF as well during football season. For those who were clamoring to have Zimmer on SDSU's beat, How's that working out for you?

I want to see a 15+ win and not get behind 20-0.

Jeff Kolpack showing a lot of confidence for the Bison today...

@TerryVandrovec SDSU has every intangible imaginable, I don't think this is a winnable game for the visitors.

Considering that he's only been on the job 2 weeks,i think the jury's still out. Also,i don't know if anyone was "clamoring" for him as much as he was the best option at this time at the Argus.

Maybe Zim needs to know our concerns about coverage. Only an email away. but might be a good idea to be constructive in the criticism. His first rely will no doubt be " I Am only one guy doing the work of three".
