Maybe a little but its hard to take away a 4 minute high light video how good someone is or isn't or how athletic.

It always amazes me how some of us are able to better evaluate a recruit based on a 3 minute video than our coaches are able to do based on in-person observations, recommendations from coaches, meetings etc. After all, the coaches of the top three sports have only been able to make the playoffs 15 times in 24 tries since we became eligible in DI (7 for women's basketball, 5 for football and 3 for men's basketball). I sure wished they had the knowledge to observe quickness/speed, athleticism, heart, etc. That way new recruits who happened to come on this board to read about their future home wouldn't see themselves being dissed before they ever set foot on the court.

No one said they're better at evaluating recruits than our coaches, we're just providing opinions. Do you really want us to sit here and blow sunshine up recruits a$$e$? If a recruit has thin enough skin to let some random guys on a message board get to them, he probably isn't going to succeed anyway. A good recruit would use it as motivation to get faster/stronger and prove those people wrong.

Back to this guy, I'm biased because I watched him all year but I would take Ty Hoglund from Dell Rapids over this guy any day. If Ty grows an inch or two after high school (which is very possible, his dad did), I could see him as a potential future transfer from DWU.

After a little research he definitely plays against a much higher level of competition than most high school kids. It said their schedule was made up of prep schools and small colleges. I saw last year that his team was in the same tournament as Tevin King although they didn't play each other. Maybe Tevin had some insight for the coaches.

The one thing that makes me curious though, is that his team gets a ton of exposure when they play in these prep team tournaments cuz there is a ton of D-1 recruits in those affairs.....out of 300 plus D-1 schools, what does our coaches see that no one else appears to?

I wonder if this would be a possibility for a Big Ten grad transfer? Looking for immediate and significant playing time available at the guard position (Check), a winning program (Check), and a chance to play in the postseason (Check). No mention of specific transfer destinations or if he'd prefer to stay at high major school, so only speculation at this point...

Maybe the same thing they saw when Nate Wolters was on the verge of committing to Augustana and decided on SDSU in the eleventh hour of his recruitment?

(To be clear, not saying this kid would or wouldn't be that good...I haven't watched the film and am not particularly interested in watching it... I'm just saying, this staff has a decent track record, unless Wolters is simply an anomaly/outlier.)

Dont get me wrong, there is a reason I haven't commented on his skill set. I am not a judge of athletic talent. We have a local kid here that I swear could play at the mid-major level but has no offers so that goes to show what I know.

If he wants to play relatively close to home so family/friends can see him play, the Jacks certainly have the advantage over his other offers in that area.

Found a couple highlight videos. Looks like he plays with some swagger, good passer and can get to the rim.

I just saw that this guy is leaving WSU. File it under FYI (probably means nothing). Repeat: I have no information about anything other than what you see here. He's from Missouri originally. Has three years of eligibility.
