Parks scored as much as he didn't. Didn't feel like he had 15. Glad we didn't let kasperbour go off. He is the guy I think that is the x factor for usd. If he gets room he can let it fly.
Nagy praised Parks in the postgame interview, pointing out how well he handled the task of covering Kasperbauer (whom he called "the best shooter in the league"). He said he was fine with Parks fighting through some shooting issues because he's doing other things. Another thing he mentioned was how Bittle is having foot issues and may have to be shut down in practice so he does not start missing game time.
It's pretty clear now that Tellingheusen is something special. That's the kind of guy you can build a team around going forward. It's also clear that the Jacks can play some serious defense when they are focused. The fact that they were composed enough to recover from a 20-0 hole was encouraging too.
Well the men's game gave me two things I have never seen before. I've never seen an 8 point underdog jump out to a 20-0 lead on the road and never have I seen a team that was up 20 in the first half trail at halftime. I can not believe how fast that lead evaporated. I've noticed that State's men win a lot of their games by double digits. I don't know if USD will win a conference game by double digits all year.
Congrats on the win. I'm not surprised at all. We just don't have the talent. I didn't see the game but looks like to me you out it away the last 3-4 minutes. Anxious to hear about it from those at the game.
Unlike goon, I won't blame the refs. I'll concede we have less talent. Maybe a pro Coyote crowd in February will be enough extra gas to take it to the end. Good win for you.

I would not take the ref comments too seriously. The refs are in the best position to makes and some of them are not like we think they should be. The reviews are a good idea and are long overdue. Like Cody Larsen fourth foul, turned out on the review that it was Tellinghusen who committed the foul. Eventually we will have a perfect game of officiating.
Winning in Vermillion will be a real challenge. You do have a classy coach who I first noticed when he was an assistant at NDSU. He seemed classy then and still is. I think he has a very capable assistant in Austin Hansen who like Craig is moving around the conference and region. Both are looking for better opportunities when they come up and that's what coaching is all about. I don't expect Smith or Hansen to spend as many years at USD as did Dave Boots. Enjoy these guys while you have them. That Hunter guy is literally a beast.
The crowd was very anxious for a score during the 20-0 run the yotes had to begin the game. When Larson dropped in the first score there was a release and the noise grew every score as the lead disappeared. It did not give the yotes much slack the rest of the game as little spurts were greeted with more noise. The crowd may not have helped the Jackrabbits go more intense, but it seemed to create trouble for the yotes. The home court yesterday was a textbook example of that advantage with a responsive crowd. The defense for the Jackrabbits did very well for the last 33 minutes of the game. Bos and Kasperbauer and Larson were having trouble getting open 3's after the first spurt. That was the need for the defense to shut down the outside shots. Hunter had some success getting to the free throw line in the second half and only shooting 3-7 down low and fouls may have limited his playing time. Robertson was called to play post and he appears to be an undersized 4 at best as he picked up 4 fouls. The yotes were scrappy to the end as they could not make the shots and the Jackrabbits did make the shots. The defense on the perimeter may have worn the yote guards down.

UND had this silly ritual of standing until the home team the No name Sioux scored. Yesterday would have been a little rough on fat guys like me. I was watching on Midco. BTW either Bos or Casperbauer had a device hanging out of their mouth. I don't know which one, but I suspect it was an inhaler for asthma. Someone know more about this?

We use to do that silly think at sdsu too.

Two things: If someone says that any game was well officiated is mistaken! There no such thing! Secondly, USD has some very good shooters, but not a very good team. Good shooters by themselves does not equal a good team.
To bad we can't get telly 10 3 pt attemps agame. Parks needs to drive and cut and move. He stands on the 3 pt line way to much. They need him to get action to the rim where he clearly plays the best and let telly spot up for the 3s more. Surprised. Parks scored as much as he didn't. Didn't feel like he had 15. Glad we didn't let kasperbour go off. He is the guy I think that is the x factor for usd. If he gets room he can let it fly.
Completely agree with the Telly comment. He needs to shot more and well be something special as his Jackrabbit career goes forward. But, I think Mr. Parks is doing just fine. Can't imagine were we would be without him - especially while George was not available. Parks can play on my team anytime.
Slow starts are scaring me. I think we try to hard to force the ball into Larsen early vs just let it happen as we run the offense. Only one thing really disappointed me last night - missed shots happen, fouls happen, turnovers happen but giving up that layup right before the first half ended made me mad. We miss a free throw and do not get back on defense with 3 seconds left and give up a layup. That's not acceptable.
Oh and by the way call a dang timeout when someone puts up 20 straight points on you! Damn that lack of time outs frustrates me! Good win.

Are you sure it wasn't just a mouthpiece to protect his teeth? Lots of players use those.

It was odd shape. You may be correct, a mouth piece to protect his teeth, unlike the one that Bittle was not wearing a week or two ago and got a chipped tooth.
