It is time to move on to the next game which will be in the friendly confines of Frost Arena. WIU at 2-0 is a surprise for the first week of the Summit. They have done well protecting the home floor by beating IPFW and Omaha. They have scored 73 and 80 points in those games. This is not Molinari's Leathernecks. Their starters will play 30+ minutes per game. If the Jackrabbits bring the A game, this should be a win at home. Covington and Sandifer as shooters will require good defense from the Jackrabbits. The Wednesday night games could be good for the attendance and hopefully people will brave the weather.

Re: WIU Leathernecks vs SDSU Jackrabbits
This would be a good time for Marshall to find some teammates and pick up some assists. His shooting should eventually show up but the assists have been absent at the glaring level. The PG needs to be an enabler for his teammates. That could bring Bittle out more quickly as an offensive force. Marshall needs the first game at Frost to show his talents as a PG.Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Re: WIU Leathernecks vs SDSU Jackrabbits
It is odd how we seemingly are struggling to find a guard who can initiate offense for others but then I watch other college games and see pretty much the same. In today's game it seems kids think if they aren't scoring, they don't need to do other things well, like pass the ball. It seems to be primarily a guard thing from what I notice. Can make for some ugly basketball too. Seems George thinks he came here from Sconnie to score 15 a game. Not sure he has yet to realize the differences between levels of college basketball aren't nearly as diverse as they were say 25 years ago. A lot of kids go to smaller schools to play right away than may have gone to higher level schools in the past.
Regardless, I look for Nagy to address the issues with the team quickly and get the ship righted! Jacks win tonight by 12. I'm hearing some roster shuffling is going on too. So I guess we'll see.

Re: WIU Leathernecks vs SDSU Jackrabbits
There were good reasons why the two big time transfers were far down the bench before coming here. Most schools don't have that luxury of just going down the list to the next player, because if they don't produce they know they will be probably not be around long. It's just a game, enjoy the competition for what it is. There will always be someone that is better. Celts, Lakers, Bulls, Heat, etc.

I didn't say anything about a starting lineup just that Marshall hasn't earned his 38-40 minutes of playing time and Moffet deserves some playing time. He hasn't been spectacular, but he has been servicable.
Different line-ups (or should I say rosters) are used throughout the game. So using semantics to argue between roster and line-up shuffling is silly.

When I read "roster shuffling" I thought the same thing as bigticket...someone is leaving the team....but then 3pt clarified. 3pt just chose the wrong word, no bigs.
Carry on.

While I agree that Marshall's minutes aren't deserved at this point, Moffitt's offensive numbers are not good. He doesn't make a lot of mistakes, but offense is almost 5 on 4 when he is on the court. That would be just fine if we had some other offensive threats, but the last few games we haven't.
Not disagreeing with you, just my $.02.
IMO, if there is any shuffling that takes place, Theisen will see more minutes and Devine/Horstman will see less. I just don't see Marshall, Parks, or Bittle getting fewer minutes. I expect to see 7 players with over 12 minutes of action.“I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I’m with isn’t it, and what’s it seems scary and wierd. It’ll happen to you.” — Abe Simpson

I look at playing Moffit as more of a "George you need to kick it in the a**" type thing rather than doing it because Moffit is better. Nagy needs to send a message and sitting guys on the bench would sure seem to help him get his point across.
