  • George Marshall....Possible New Transfer

According to Jeff Goodman of ESPN.... George Marshall, a PG from the University of Wisconsin is visiting North Texas, Illinois-Chicago, and the Jacks....https://twitter.com/GoodmanESPN/stat...81744372584448

--One would imagine that it would be hard to beat out his hometown school in UIC, especially considering we don't have an immediate scholarship for him, but stranger things have happened I guess.

He was a 3 Star out of HS....http://rivals.yahoo.com/basketballre...ixNMVLC3XSO5B4

This is probably just a Joe K. kicking the tires on a recruit.

If a visit is involved it's probably just a bit more than merely kicking the tires. Wolters playing in the NBA (and keeping his head above the water it seems, even if on the woeful Bucks) has a big impact on prospective guards.

Since he redshirted right out of high school , you would think he wants to enroll at his new school for spring semester to retain as much eligibility as possible. If he does that , he would be eligible a year from now and have 1 1/2 seasons left to play. If that's the situation , he should be making a decision rather quickly.

Carlson graduates and no real obvious to take over next year means playing time should be readily available. That would pro be a deciding factor too.

Deondre Parks will probably start the year at the point. If Marshall were to transfer in, he probably would enroll before the second semester so he could play next year after the Christmas break. But even with Deondre we need two point guards, so Marshall would be a good fit here.

Oh yeah I forgot about him. Still your right the pg position is up for grabs next year for sure.

Are Bittle and Broman considered shooting guards as opposed to point guards?

Early in the season, both were getting some minutes at point. As the season has progressed, the minutes have dwindled as Brayden is playing more minutes. Bittle and Broman are still getting a few minutes at point with Bittle appearing to be the first choice to fill at PG.

Prior to the injury, Nagy made an official announcement that Bittle would be playing shooting guard and Broman would start at point. Broman's height might be an issue if he were to become a full-time shooting guard, but he clearly has the ability to score.

Who was that canadian kid from baylor who was their shooitng guard when we lost a close one to um? He couldn't have been more then 6'1 or 2 at the most as a SG at least looked that way on tv.
He was rather effective with his height not being the tallest.
