No worries. I still have nightmares every once in awhile about those early transition years. I don't want to relive them live again.

Where did WNAX get that announcer who did the game? Obviously he was a west coast guy filling in. My clue to this conclusion was he mispronounced something, I cant think of it now, but seemed to loving the pouring on by the Stanford Cardinals.

It's not WNAX who gets the announcer, it was Learfield Sports and SDSU who got him. It was the same guy who did the USD and LMU games and he is a west coast guy.

Anyways, the effort thing really struck me. Why wouldn't these guys play hard all the time? That's really concerning this early in the season.

Oh yes Learfield, I guess this has its pros and cons. I think he was on our side, but not a Steve Imming by any means. I agree about the effort, it just was not there. I stopped listening at 19 to 3 and then did peeks on the game thread. Some one mentioned wasting Stanford's time, I agree.

That "wasting Stanford's time" quote (Nagy) is about as brutal of a criticism as you can get. Hopefully it is a wakeup call to a team that embarassed itself twice on this trip. I could not believe how fast this game was as good as over. I was driving east on Hwy 50 listening on the radio. Tipoff occured as I was one mile west of the tiny town of Avon. By the time I was one mile to the east of town I had to change the station for a bit. We were down by 12+ that fast and a comeback was clearly not realistic with this squad.

I'm still going to try and be patient with this group, but what I saw this weekend makes me a lot less confident that they will get it together anytime soon.
