Give the kid a jersey coach!
I caution against any speculation about his young man joining the Jackrabbits. Not saying it will never happen but there are many issues that would need to be resolved before it could ever happen.

They offered him over a month ago. He's on the list already.

Macura committed to Xavier last night. Surprised me. Updated the list.

With a nickname like PacMan, he better be quick and be able to get to the rim.

Solid recruit, had offers from Wyoming and Air Force and a slew of other mid-major/low major schools

Here's a pretty good article about Daum, written back in August: http://nebraskahshoops.com/kimballs-...tern-nebraska/

Sounds like he has good shooting skills, which is always a bonus in a 6'9 player.

                    From the article:
“I’ve coached for over ten years now and he’s the best shooter I’ve ever coached,” coach Valdez said. It’s not just his coach who thinks so highly of Daum’s shot either.
“Some of these college coaches that are recruiting told me that he’s the best shooting big man out there right now that has not committed, so that’s a lot to say,” Valdez said.
Someone as tall as Larry Bird that can shoot on the perimeter with the best of them provides a nightmare of match-up problems, Valdez said. Daum’s dual-threat skill level helped coach Valdez and assistant coach Todd Williams to a 28-10 season this past summer and spring.

Wasn't able to find any video of Mr. Daum playing on the internet, but when I heard we had an offer out to him I read the article Southeast linked plus a couple others and thought it would be tough for us to land this kid. He had an offer from the University of Wyoming, to which both of his parents are former Wyoming athletes, Laramie is a lot close to his home town of Kimball, NE than Brookings, and Mountain West > Summit, so for the coaching staff to get Mike on board is a testament to how far this program has come.

In terms of Mike as a player; he's 6'9" and can shoot the ball, so there is plenty to like there. If he has the work ethic and the toughness of someone who grew up on a farm in western Nebraska, I think he can be a very good player for us.
If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of payments.

Just to add, he has an offer from SDSU.

                            Lots of news:

I removed CJ Carr from the offers and added Parks.

Brock Stull visited over the 7th of September. Not sure if it was an official though. He visited Albany this past weekend.

Brady Ellingson is down to Iowa and USD (University of San Diego).

Nate Gehring committed to Pepperdine last night.

Wheeler Baker is has had an official to Wofford and I think Albany is coming up in the next couple weeks. I'd really like to see State get this kid.
