UNO fan here... What did the fans that went think of the arena. Parking a bit of a nightmare, but love the facility.

Looked fantastic (as it should) on television. As I stated before, UNO has everything in place to build a very competitive mid major program.

From watching on TV it looked like a pretty nice venue but kind of "sterile". Fans were quite a ways from the court and didn't sound into the game at all.

It would have great if this game would landed on a Saturday. I believe more SDSU fans would have attended.

Yes the SDSU cheers (Let's go Rabbits) were very discernible during the clock issue with 4 min to go. With the "comeback" that UNO was making at that point, no way the Jacks fans should have been noticable.

One of the things I liked about Coach Nagy in the old NCC days is that he just sat there during the game and didn't say too much and let his players play and show what they learned in practice. Last night was different...he appeared angry the whole game and was on the officials a lot even when he was up by 20 points and just seemed cranky in general. Has he changed with age?? Not sure why he played Wolters for 39 minutes. The guy is hurt and don't you want to rest him for the post season??? The game was never in doubt. Wouldn't you rest you best player after the game was out of reach which was at halftime??? Just some thoughts??

Finally got a chance to see them live this year.....boy I'm glad UNO is in the conference, I can see at least 1 game per year!!

I thought that for 30 minutes our offense was stellar. The ball movement was as good as I've seen and we had many easy layups. Heard a lot of positive comments in the crowd from UNO fans. UNO's half court defense was less than stellar, we had 73 points with 13:30 to go in the second half, and they appeared lost at times.

Beyond the obvious guys playing well, I like what Heemstra brings to the table. His ability to move the ball and pass makes our type of offense even more effective.....he played very well last night. As for Prince, I thought he played pretty good, but he has a "bull in a china shop" mentality. The first thing he does when he decides to drive is put his head down which causes him to lose sight of defensive rotations and open teammates. I love his fearlessness on the inside, but at 6'3" he is going to need to learn positioning, you can't take it straight up against a 6'8" defender.

As for the run, I have to admit it bothered me a little. Saw the same thing last night that we saw against Murray State. First, we aren't quick enough on the point to defend a quick guard. When teams full court press us after a make we struggle, especially when they deny Nate the ball. We do great after the miss because Nate does so well at pushing the ball up the floor and doesn't allow them to set up......but after makes its a different story. We not only struggle to bring the ball up the floor against the press but we typically play into their hands by forcing up a quick 3. I gotta be honest, I'd full court press the crap out of us until we proved that we could handle it.

They had a free ticket give away for the game. Of course that quickly migrated into, "all we have left is SRO, would you like to buy a seat"?

It'a great promotion for putting butts in the seats but you don't necessarily attract fans that are going to be into the game. They had a black out promotion for the game that appeared to have failed mainly because a good chunk of the fans were there because of the free tickets and didn;t even know about the black out.

Most of the time he is on the bench and fairly quiet. When he feels he needs to be louder he is.

Nate decides how much he plays, not Nagy. When you have a stiff back its best to keep moving, not to rest and let it stiffen up again.

Jackrabbits dominated this game, UNO made a nice run but it wasn't nearly enough. BB is a game of runs guys, don't let the facts worry you. I dare teams to try and press us and play and up tempo game the whole time. I know our bench isn't deep but I think our top 6 can beat everybody else in a fast tempo game not on their home court. I like our chances in Sioux Falls a lot more today then I did before the UNO game last night.

Actually, I didn't think parking was too bad. We left a little bit early after the game was in hand for the second time, so we beat the rush.

I think it's probably an excellent hockey arena. But for basketball, the number of good seats seems really limited -- the majority of the seats in the joint are around the ends of the court. And they get really far away from the action really fast. I don't recall UNO students ever showing up in droves, but with the designated student section so far from the action, it would be tough for them to have much impact even if they did show up. The three rows of folding chairs just off the end of the court for a handful of students just doesn't cut it.

By all accounts, they didn't anticipate the crowd. We arrived by 6:30. The Jacks already were up 7-0 by the time we got tickets and to where we could see the court. SRO was all that was available by the time we got to the ticket window, but there were plenty of empty seats to be had, especially around the ends. Had we not had a 2- and 5-year-old in tow, we probably could have found better seats. SRO saved me some money, though, and cost UNO some revenue. I looked at buying tickets online Thursday afternoon. Four seats in the section where we ended up sitting would have cost more that $90 after all the fees. We spent $36.

The new arena didn't make me long for Sapp Field House (talk about your parking fun), but I do miss being able to walk up, grab a ticket and plant myself a few rows behind the Jacks' bench.

I know Nate is a bit banged up, but if a 22 year old college athlete can't properly recover from 40 minutes of basketball over the next EIGHT days prior to the start of the postseason, we are going to have problems. I would think they played because they knew this is the only game action they would see in a two week span.

I won't disagree with you, but its hard to avoid when you plop a basketball floor into a hockey arena. Hopefully some plan is in place to prevent/minimize these issues in the new SF events center.

In case this has not been made clear earlier, let me shed a little light on UNO's use of the Ralston Arena. The arena was built to accommodate arena football and hockey, and not basketball. But from what I understand, the city wanted to get more recognition for the arena, and made a deal with UNO (4 years) to play there men's basketball games there at no cost. Earlier in this thread, it is explained that UNO is planning to built its own arena, which will be on the southside of the UNO campus. The Ralston arena is about four miles from the UNO campus, and would definitely not fit the UNO hopes for its basketball program, but is basically a "stop gap" arrangement. Although UNO officials seem to feel they will get the money to build their own facility, I have no current information on where they are at on that proposal.

Since this will be a hockey facility, too, I would think/hope they plan to make it basketball friendly.
