  • Re: NDSU

One thing I love about basketball is that the law of averages usually shows its face. Though we didn't play great D in the first half, the Bison were hitting some tough shots as well. 2nd half we played much better D, plus the Bison were not only missing the tough shots, but some easy ones as well.

Much better than he would have done this year. Connor is definitely talented but needed a redshirt year. Hope he's ripping it up in the weight room.

Anyways, if he's hurt for the season NDSU is in big trouble.
I was not at the game, but relying on Jumptv, and I thought he was going in for a dunk, maybe he was not. I agree its a tough injury for the NDSU.

He was going in for a dunk. I'm not picking on you Nidaros. I'm just saying dunking the ball happens all the time. He's a 6'7" athletic kid who can dunk it with ease. It's not like he was going to do a 360 or something. He was wide open. Freak injury.

Luckily he didn't hit a camera man's foot or we'd have a huge conspiracy brewing...

A simple lay up would have worked. I am old school on that part of the game. The dunk and the emotional irrupt from the crowd seems to have gotten a little out of hand. But I am old.

How do you know he would not have gotten hurt had he just gone up for a layup? Going for the dunk had nothing to do with him getting hurt. The injury actually happened before even going up for the dunk. It could have happened at any point and situation on the floor today, including a simple jump stop off the dribble 40 ft from the hoop.

Great 2nd half for SDSU. Needed that win and enjoyed seeing the hustle/coaching decisions in the 2nd half. Need to get two more wins next week and we should be travelling to Wichita State for Bracketbusters(with a return in next couple years). Really nice to see a crowd over 6000 when they were projecting 4500.

Oakland currently up 5 on WIU with under a minute to play.

I dont know if he would have gotten hurt going up for a layup, but there seems to this old coot that you are not risking how you land with a lay up. I suppose there could have been a wet spot leading to a slip and a ankle twist. I dont know all the ins and outs, I just hope Mr Wright is okay and he continues his bb career.

Travonn Wright has his career days at games involving SDSU. However, if some are ready to jump on a kid shooting a 3 before the shot clock expires; why would you give a pass to another for a hotdog move at the end of a losing game. Wright is a great find for the bison who plays with a bunch of emotion and energy. Although, he could have pulled the ball out and left Brookings with the same ending of short on the score.. Why do we have the politically correct idea on one hand but not the other? I wish the young man a quick bounce back from this injury and I would guess he will remember this incident. The bison certainly do not need any other injury on this team.

Agreed. Wright is a great player. Watching him today, I could only wonder why he doesn't shoot it more. That injury looked bad. I hope he's OK.

As far as I'm concerned, that was a great game to watch. Some great plays. Wrights dunk in the first half was absolute filth, would like to see a replay of that one.

Bison played phenomenal D in the first half, completely shut Wolters down, and were making everything they threw at the hoop.

We were lucky to only be down 6.

Jacks played phenomenal D in the second half and the Bison couldn't throw it in the ocean.

If I recall, is there some bad blood between Dykstra and Bjorklund going back to high school/summer team games?

I can't believe NDSU doesn't feed Bjorklund down low more.

Also, I hope Wright is ok.

Glad to hear the result of the game.

Doubt the Bison faithful are as confident of their chances at the SL Tournament now.

Reading these threads is high entertainment, I tell you. We have our own share of bi-polars. This is not meant to say there can't be disagreement...of course there can. But show a little patience.

I looked at bisonville. What a mistake.

Saul is right up there with the refs on the loss. The only reason he may be suspect on intelligence is that he has stayed this long.
