Had a cousin from across the state and her family in town tonight for a game night so I didn't catch any of the game. All I've seen of the game is reading through the thread now.

Disappointed in the start. Glad we fought back. Disappointed we gave up the late lead.

Shocked. SHOCKED. about Dykstra this year. Sounds like he hit a couple in the second half but where was he again? Expected way more from him this year.

Exactly. It was like we were playing 4 against 5 out their because he want able to do anything.

The game last night was quite exciting with the Jacks not quiting. Early the defense was not prepared for Bjorklund and he hurt us badly. Overall the only other breakdowns in defense was not fighting through a screen or switch and a 3 pt shot was launched. A few times the bison took really long 3's and the defense did not go out far enough to challenge. The 3's allowed and made were as damaging as the early spurt by Bjorklund. The time that Brayden was on Braun, Braun became ineffective and frustrated. The stripes allowed a bit more contact on Nate than should have been, but we have very little control of these characters. A couple of times the refs may have thought the cheering was for them. It was a good home court game for the bison even with the students out of town. The bison will not be going away like last year. The Jacks will need to be able to bring the entire game as we go forward.

Agreed. We're going to need a scorer to step for next year because it's becoming more evident that Dykstra just is not going to turn into that guy you can count on. White, Heemstra, Dykstra, and Carlson. Those are the seniors for next year. How many points are they going to get us? 30 per game? I hope there is some talent hidden away over on that bench! Carlson showed a flash last night, but he's a critical defender and probably is not a 15 ppg guy.

There was a tweet last night that stated first ten minutes Bison 19 Jacks 8. last 30 minutes of the game Jacks 54 Bison 46. Like Alford said the first five minutes of the game are the most important.

For next year we NEED Dykstra to become an 18 ppg kinda player. Carlson and White should be 10-15 ppg players with White making at least 2-3 3-pointers a game. Heemstra will be 6-8 ppg kinda guy. Bittle and Prince can be 8-12 ppg guys. I believe that Matt Donlan will be a wildcard for us. He is a pure shooter, and also happens to be maybe our most athletic guy at a mere height of 6'6-6'7. If he puts in the work and adds muscle this season, we will see good things from him the next few years. I also feel Broman could play next year because of his shooting ability.....if White doesn't do it, I'm sure Donlan or Broman are willing to give it a try.

With that said, we had our chances last night and didn't capitalize on them......NDSU did, and won. I love the potential of this team and where we could two months from now.

Granted there should be more offense than nate but make sure you pay attention to how our offense is ran. It is screen for nate at the top of the key. Nate can either shoot, drive and score, pass back to pick man, or drive and kick to hopefully a wide open shooter depending on how the defense collapses. This is more of an nba style of offense. Watch all good teams with great point guard play and this is how they go. Our biggest thing is probably movement. Callahan seemed to run all over the court last year, but that might have changed since he could do it. We don't want Brayden doing that cause we need his legs for defense and white is a more spot up shooter. Did Bittle even play last night?

There was only 7 players from both squads that played and jake Bittle was not on the floor.

Zach Horstman did suit up last night and he was involved in warmups. He had brace on ankle.

Is their any chance he could get a medical redshirt back? Since he could miss most of the season combined.

We have zero depth this year, plus the conference season is only 2 games in. Why the talk of the medical redshirt?

Some how some way these rest of this team (besides Nate) needs to become more consistent. It's such as roller coaster from game to game. It's going to be a difficult road the rest of the way unless the supporting cast really steps up and starts playing more consistent. NDSU just causes the Rabbits problems and Western looks like they're for real. Just a reminder...... Someone is going to have to beat the Rabbits in SF to take away the title. Advantage Rabbits.GO RABBITS!

In fairness, that meltdown occurred 30 minutes into a closely contested game.

Thought the Jacks had it salted away when they had the 56-52 lead, but you get a charge called instead of a block, and you lose 3 points on that end which would've basically wrapped it up, come back with what(?) a three point play and a stop and another basket, and that ends up being more or less the difference.

Would've liked to see the Jacks win after the two FB losses, but in the end, what's the one have to do with the other? If that's how you're going to measure things, then just remind yourself that SDSU is 15-3 vs. NDSU in WBB since the D-1 move, and has won 15 of the last 16.

He has hardly played. Has been hurt most of the year and when healthy still hardly getting on the court. Seems like a waste of the year.
