I see the 13/14 split coming down to SDSU, New Mexico State, Stephen F. Austin and Valparaiso. They are the teams that seem to bounce along the 13/14 lines on the different brackets I have seen. (Still a chance at NMSU and SFA losing today)
If you take the top 3 RPI wins vs. the bottom 3 RPI losses for each team here's what you get......
It was said on this board when it happened that that November Hofstra loss was a really bad one and it was pooh-poohed; it's biting the jacks in March.
The latest ESPN RPI has us at 64. Stephen F Austin is at 65. The also have us as a 13 and SFA as a 14. I'm really hoping Northwestern State wins the southland bid with their RPI of 98. That will help keep us up at 13 and Northwestern state is leading by 3 right now on ESPN2 with 15 min left.
Update: Big win by Northwestern State by 68-66! That will help us. Now for TX-Arlington to beat New Mexico State.
Assuming any degree of accuracy concerning seeds and sites (heh), then the door might be open to get shifted as a 13 seed to Kansas City, as Stephen F. Austin lost tonight in the Southland to Northwestern State.
By my count, SDSU has two true road wins over tournament teams: Montana and New Mexico. 2-2 vs. the field (Belmont, and assuming Minnesota gets an at-large).
I have some admiration for those of you who make a little sense out of the "bracketology". My understanding only goes so far and then as near as I can tell, somebody's using dice or a ouiji board to make some final decisions.
And, yes, somebody always kept their eyes open and pushed the pointer around on the ouiji board. At least I always did.
Jerry Palm is just bound and determined to put SDSU in San Jose no matter what--as of right now, he has us playing Arizona out there. An hour ago we were playing Marquette in San Jose.
Maybe he thinks that SDSU stands for San Diego State. Wouldn't be the first to make that mistake.

Maybe he thinks its close like that Murray State fan who thought they could make a quick trip out of their return games to St. Mary's and SDSU because we're both "out west."
"All I know is what I read on the message boards."
"Oh, well, there's your problem, then."
