Looks like we can make a case for 12 if we roll the tide Friday...

12 seeds are not for mid majors fellas. Highest a SL team can ever hope for, until RPI goes through the roof, is 13 seed.

Not that Lunardi has all the answers but right now he has Akron (Mid-Amer), Bucknell (Patriot), BYU (West Coast) & Middle Tenn St (Sunbelt) on the 12 line. All are rated in the Mid Major Top 25 (http://www.collegeinsider.com/mens-mid-major-top-25.php).

If State had a huge season this year coming off a tournament bid last season they could've pushed the 12 line.

Just keep playing good basketball the rest of the way.

12 seeds from past several years. More mid-majors than majors. With that said, I don't think the Summit champ will get that this year.

                  2012 - 3 mid-majors
                  VCU
                  S. Florida
                  Long Beach State
                  Harvard

                  2011 - 3 mid-majors
                  Utah State
                  Clemson
                  Richmond
                  Memphis

                  2010 - 4 mid-majors
                  Cornell
                  Utah State
                  New Mexico State
                  UTEP

                  2009 - 2 mid-majors
                  Arizona
                  UNI
                  Wisconsin
                  Western Kentucky

                  2008 - 3 mid-majors
                  George Mason
                  Villinova
                  Western Kentucky
                  Temple

                  2007 - 2 mid-majors
                  ODU
                  Illinois

Wow - let's hope the Summit can do better than that! I do agree that WIU could expect to see a matchup/seed like that if they do win the tourney.

If everything holds true to form this week and the Jacks and Bison win their two games and WIU wins their single game,it will be interesting to see which team the bracketeers put in their projections when there is a 3-way tie for the top spot.. I would guess they would take the team with the highest RPI.

If you give enough different scenarios - in the end you can say "see I was right". (Granted it was in week 6 or 12, but I was right)

Hmmm... Wouldn't really mind that matchup. Rotnei Clark and Kellen Dunham can stroke it though
