Nagy wont be happy about that.

Solid exhibition, thought we coasted a little too much after the big early lead (Alder also was on fire, making a bunch of contested shots), but that happens.

Wolters seemed to take it easy and Prince/Dykstra did a lot of the scoring.

Everybody got lots of playing time. Out of the new guys, Bittle looked pretty good and sounds like he'll be playing this year. Devine and Donlan looked like they had a lot of raw potential, but both are really skinny and it sounds as if both will redshirt. Jacobsen knocked down some 3s and Tyler Merriam mentioned that he might see some playing time in spot duty.

Yeah he is one of those guys that if he gets going he can make it with the best defense being played against him. The key for BHSU will be making sure he doesn't have to bring the ball up, he seems to get into trouble when the ball is in his hands too much.

As far as SDSU I don't, I really couldn't get a good understanding of the game, seemed more like a practice game (which I guess it was) with Nagy subbing guys in all night. Who knows, figure that out at Alabama

Re: GDT: Black Hills State (Exhibition)

I was at the games tonight. In the post-game interview, Nagy commented that the team has to play with humility and it did at the start of the game. Then, with a big lead, the team lost that attitude and BHSU made it closer. On Adler, Nagy said he's an example of a good shooter that once they get going, hard to stop. So, the key is the opponent can't let such a shooter get going in the first place.

Adler had some impressive shots. He got off a couple three-pointers with hands in his face and he was off-balance. I thought his got a little angry at times...maybe that's not quite the right word but he was pressing a little hard but all-in-all, an impressive performance. He tried to take the team on his shoulders...his teammates have to find ways to contribute more. They do that and BHSU should be competitive in the RMAC. Some good potential there for BH.

The last nine minutes of the game were very enjoyable to watch. We had the future of SDSU basketball playing and that's probably the best rookie play I've seen in Frost. Bittle played like a sophomore at times. Even post-game, the interview with Connor Devine -- the kid's only a freshman but he was articulate and a good interview.

I was thinking the exact same thing. This young man is gonna do just fine in life...you can already tell.

People weren't kidding when they said Dykstra changed his body type. He is tough to guard - too quick and too good of an outside game for the average 4 to guard him,and too big and strong to be checked by the average 3.

I thought at times BHSU played a little chippy, and the refs had to blow a lot of whistles to maintain control. Coach even talked about how a young man said something to Taevaunn that was "hard for him to hear" but went on to say that Taevaunn was the better man for rising above it. Maybe it is good to play an ex. game with a D-II team with a little attitude as we get ready to play Alabama.

On the blue wall - it is really big. If they put plexiglass on the top rather than a rail to improve sight lines as one poster previously mentioned,it will look just like the old left field wall at the Metrodome. Maybe someone can paint a mural of Kirby Puckett jumping up and making that catch in the World Series.

Do any of you who were there have any observations about the new student sections? It was hard to get a feel for it on the Gojacks.com video feed.

I was not thrilled with the final score but realize it in no way reflected the way the game started out. I forget the actual score, but it seems like it was something like 30-5 midway through the first half. It would be very hard to stay 100% focused on defense after that.

Student sections were full, they seemed into the game bigger then I thought they would be for a Ex. against a D-II.

It was fun to watch five freshmen play most of the last nine minutes. They held their own and even increased the lead slightly. The Jacks were just awesome in their 32-4 run to start the game. Nate seemed content to pass the ball to other open players, resulting in a lot of good shots, but stayed low-key otherwise. He will turn it one when he is needed.
