Count me in with Goon regarding Coach K. Duke does everything right and they get ridiculed for it. I wasn't cheering for them against Lehigh as I'm always for the upset, but I'm not a Duke hater as a lot of other people are. I see no reason for it. Coach K does a lot of good for A LOT of people. And he does it the right way.
Sort of like a certain college football program and coach that was in the news a while back?

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Coach K or Duke. I wouldn't bet my house there isn't anything shady about any top-tier program, and I'm not putting anybody on pedestals anymore.

I know we love to beat up on BCS teams, but (from Jay Bilas Twitter):

36 of 68 teams in NCAA field are non-BCS teams. Only 2 of those 36 made Sweet 16 (6%). Of 32 BCS teams, 14 made Sweet 16 (44%).

EDIT: Sweet exit as a 2 seed. Almost as bad as Methzouri.
KU, I hope that was just a severe overreaction. Never seen a bigger cry-baby in any sport? Apparently you have never seen Gary Williams or Bill Cowher coach. Coach K doesn't get after the officials anymore than any other basketball coach that has the camera on him all the time. When was the last time you saw him get a T? Those who complain about Coach K and the refs are generally Duke haters, which makes the argument very convenient.

The number of coach-crybabies is legion.

The way you can tell a REAL coach-crybaby is that they tolerate on the court a team of crybaby players--every single call against them is met with astonished facial expressions, arms flung wide in grotesque mimicry of a crucifixion, and the general body language of unfairly oppressed six-year-olds who've just been told no, they're not going to get any more chocolate milk after upending the contents of a previously full sippy-cup onto the kitchen floor.

Finally regrouped from the trip. Thoughts about the trip to Albuquerque.
Long drive - but worth every minute. It sounds like it came through on TV. State looked gassed at points during the game, but the effort was there. They played hard as hell. Missed opportunity yes - but their effort was great!
I had an opportunity to have breakfast on Friday with Baylor fans and it's easy to be nice after you just won a NCAA "second round" game, but they were impressed. The comment I heard the most was how tough our team is.
The Pit is a great venue for college basketball - loud. Our fans would've had a difficult time being heard on Saturday with the Colorado fan base. I understand that TV runs the show, but the NCAA & the venue did a terrible job letting us in the arena. We got to The Pit an hour before tip and weren't allowed into the arena until 10 minutes before the game started. Not every soda cup needs to be removed from the arena. Let the fans in so they can get the entire experience of the NCAA tournament.
Very proud of our team and university! Great time had in Albuquerque and Go Rabbits!

Agreed - Bo Ryan (aka "The Grinch") has to be the biggest whiner/complainer in college basketball.

Most top teams I think are pretty respectful of that, some calls they wont agree with a shake a head, but the two players that I feel whine more then any player I have watched this year was Hamilton and Morrison. I think most top coaches including Coach K is what I said earlier is he execpts his players do play a hard good game, and execpts the refs to call a fair good game. Example, I know a lot of people disliked JJ reddick but the guy flat out worked hard to get good and improve his game, he worked hard to get open for shots and teams would do a lot of grabbing and pushing and bumping as he was going around screens more then most players ever would....so when JJ would get called for maybe a handcheck guarding a guy 20 feet from the rim, coach K would just like to point out how much contact JJ would get on the offensive end so if they are going to call hand checks when he is guarding someone, then everytime down the court the opposing team should get called for something....... You dont win as many games coach K being a whiner. coach Knight was intense and expected a lot, very similar to coach K and not sure I would call coach Knight a whiner either. Guys who expect a lot from their teams and will defend them if they think the refs made a dumb call.

Seriously why was a tough match-up? Because of PJIII and Quincy Acy? I was stating the whole week how I wasn't scared of them at all and that I was more afraid of some other player shooting us out of the game. People thought I was crazy but you know what, what did PJIII and Acy do, the supposed players that were gonna destroy the Jacks? Absolutely nothing. If Nate and Tony don't get into foul trouble and they hit their threes. Guess what? The jacks win. Sure it was one of the tougher matchups but that's what you get as a 14 seed. You can't hang your hat on it being a tough matchup. They had their shot just didn't execute. That being said it was one heck of a game to watch and I truly enjoyed the ride and cant wait till next year.
