Hi. That's me you're talking about. I'm glad you've already checked in at BaylorFans. To be honest, the Summit is a weak conference. ORU is no where close to the tournament and if SDSU lost to Western Illinois at the Arena then your entire message board would be discussing the placement of WIU in the tourney. The fact of the matter is when you compare the two leagues it isn't even close. I don't like that people are looking ahead to other games already. I'm a one game at a time type guy. I'm looking for a good game and I expect SDSU to play strong.

Here is what I think. Baylor will be the most talented, most athletic team that the Jacks will play all year.

The conference as a whole may not have been amazing but ORU and SDSU seemed like very good teams the few times I watched them.

Oh-oh, now you gone and done it. Indoor football - aka ballroom dancing in pads - is fightin' words on this board. This is either really, really good oppo research, or you have stumbled into the mother of all weather-sports-manhood-regional pride arguments.

Yeah loved the Baylor fan that lives in SD that said the Summit was VERY weak. Compared to the Big 12 maybe but not out of all conferences. The threads on them already making the Elite 8, the lynch mod for Seth Davis for having the gall to pick against them. Complete disrespect. Hardly a discussion on their first round game and looking ahead to later rounds.

Stadium upgrade is planned but will still be outdoors. Actually the weather here is marginally better than at the U of MN

Football outside, on grass, in Nov is for men.

That's a lot easier for us to say down here...burrr. I wouldn't want to have a small dome as my stadium, but its pretty neat.

As if we would care about rivalries in TX. About as much as they would care about rivalries in the Dakotas.

I welcome the opportunity to read the viewpoint of fans from a major program like Baylor with the understanding that they aren't Indiana, Kansas, Syracuse, etc... Baylor has the potential to build a decent program that has had one great year and some otherwise downright bad years in the recent past.

Washington has a lot of talented guys that couldn't put together enough 40 minute performances to make it to the Big Dance and that lost by 20 to a Jackrabbit team with less overall individual talent. Now, Baylor isn't Washington but they have some similar traits. Our coaches will work their asses off to makes sure our guys are has ready for this match-up as they can be. Based on the way we came out against Washington and have performed at Iowa and Minnesota is recent years I think our guys will be ready as well. Exciting time for Jackrabbit basketball and I'm enjoying every moment of it.

A sincere congratulations to both the men's and women's basketball teams for reaching the Big Dance.

I will be cheering hard for SDSU in all of the games. I've picked the men to reach the Sweet 16. I really don't think that it's a huge stretch.

I'm no coach but I hope that Baylor plays a man and puts Deuce Bello on Wolters and pesters him as much as possible. Bello is a very big fast guard who brings it on defense. We'll need to do something to slow him down. I fear a zone will give him too many open looks.

If you play zone, you're going to get eaten alive, probably. Jacks got 4 players shooting over 40% from behind the line.

If you play man, you'll have to make sure your guys don't get drawn too far off their assignments on drives by Wolters.

And, on Wolters, a potential problem for your defenders is that he's got this wide range of pull up stuff from about 5-10 feet out that he banks off the high glass; it's tough to block and tough to defend. A lot of teams will collapse too aggressively to prevent those shots and Wolters will just start dishing to perimeter catch-and-shoot guys.
