    Re: March Madness SDSU Articles

Since the subject is tonight's game with Baylor, the links below may not work after the game starts.

The following link takes you to a story about the discharge of Glen Rice Jr. from Georgia Tech. Scroll down to the video link with the heading "Thursday Games To Watch" -- you'll see four pictures, and, of course, one is Griff. The link is to a Rivals.com video talking about second round "must-see TV": Greg Anthony from Yahoo Sports (he's on ESPN too) is on the Jackrabbit bandwagon and gives his reasons. He's followed by Pat Forde who notes Anthony's pick is a good one but Forde talks about the Iowa State game.

The following link takes you directly to the Rivals.com video if you want to skip the Glen Rice story.

The same "Thursday Games To Watch" link with Griff's picture is on other Rivals.com sites too.

Bold predictions from the Bleacher Report:
          http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1106041-nate-wolters-5-ncaa-tournament-predictions-for-south-dakota-state-star

At the end they say: "Wolters is only a junior. He could come back for the 2013 tournament more experienced and ready to go on an even deeper run towards the Elite Eight and beyond."

Chicago Daily Herald article about Zach M.
          http://www.dailyherald.com/article/2...rts/703159946/

From Foxnews.com, which referred to the Jacks as "Cinderella".

"South Dakota State: Any hoops purist will fall in love with Walters, who does it all for the Jackrabbits. This is not your typical No. 14 seed. South Dakota State pummeled Pac-12 champion Washington on the Huskies home floor and steamed through the Summit League. Baylor better bring it for 40 minutes or a hot-shooting underdog that ranks 26th in offensive efficiency could pull the surprise."

          From Grantland.com:

"Only one team has yet to play a single NCAA tournament participant. Will South Dakota State’s first be its last? Not if Nate Wolters has anything to say about it. Despite being tucked away in the obscurity of the Summit League, Wolters — a 6-foot-4 highly fluid and creative floor general who is absolutely lethal on the pick-and-roll — has emerged as one of the most intriguing point guards in college basketball."

Here is an article from the Rapid City Journal about the Jackrabbits gathering in Rapid City. I would have been among them but didn't get off work in time to be there. Jackrabbit fans are becoming more visible in Rapid City.

That's a nice RC Journal article. There's a lot of potential for growing the fan base out there.

If you have not seen it yet, today's Argus has 3 articles on the game and a bunch of large color photos. It's pretty impressive.

                My response as sdsu_jackrabbit_fan

I just LOVE how people are coming on here and automatically condemning Coach Nagy because of a snarky comment that was probably taken out of context. Nagy has been known for his sarcasm and he was probably making a smart-a$$ comment to a smart-a$$ question. In fact, I imagine both Coach Nagy and his wife BOTH made the six-hour drive from Brookings to Rapid City to catch the state tournament after flying back from Albuquerque.

But hey, this is the Internet, and people have the right to make dumb-a$$ comments without knowing the whole story. :rolls eyes:

I'd be willing to bet a good portion of the people making comments about "kids come first" and all the other asinine comments condemning Coach probably leave their kids with someone else and go to the bars and get wasted every weekend, or get wasted at home with their kids right there. But, hey, kids come first...unless it means I can't have my alcohol.

The writer appears to be a gossip columnist masquerading as a journalist. I doubt he has the integrity to carry Nagy's bags though an airport. Consider the source and let it pass.
