Saturday's free throw totals for the men's and women's games combined - 45 for us - 17 for them.
How many calls did your Bison get on Saturday? Apparently not enough.

You look at a post, you reach for the keyboard, you shake your head, you sit back, think for a moment, still shaking your head. Then you reach again for your keyboard, look at the post, sit back again, shake your head again, tilt your head to one side to see if you read it correctly . . .

Not sure about that game, I was at Frost watching my team.

Just saying that after reviewing the results from the Summit tourney for the last two years. The total free throws by each team is very close during the tourney. Some teams react positively to not getting those calls, some don't. It is a point of emphasis that the coaching staff will likely talk to the team about. They need to make sure cool heads prevail, it we do it is surely a positive thing.

we're definetly vulnerable away from frost.. we miss a few of the big shots we make in frost, calls can go in the other teams favor. although in this case i imagine our reaction will be pretty positive considering we will have a "frost-like" attendence. so between the ****ty draw and the jackrabbit dominant crowd it all evens out.. and just because its so fun making predictions i dont foresee iupui being much of a challenge for us. potentially oakland could produce a challenge but if oral makes it to the championship that could be the real fun one, but no matter what it will be damn tough to take us out...

I will react the same way I do at Frost to calls/no-calls that don't help the Jackrabbits:

Go HERE, add up the free throws at Frost, and get back to me. Here's a hint: I wouldn't be posting this link if you were within hooting distance of being right.

And are you *seriously* bringing up the women? The women are 9-0 at the Sioux Falls Arena. I think they know how to win there, regardless of how the game is officiated.

OK...looked up the last 10 games...
At home we shot 139 ft's to 67 ft's for the opponents.
Away we shot 81 ft's to 81 ft's for the opponents.

That's pretty close to being fairly right?

So, what you're saying is that SDSU isn't getting a fair shake from referees on the road?

Which is pretty useless. Check out all of the home/road games from this season:

                      FTA margin

                      Team Home Road
                      UND +4 +3
                      IPFW -2 +5
                      Oakland +4 -4
                      USD -3 +1
                      UMKC 0 +6
                      ORU +6 -5
                      SUU
                      +18 +19
                      NDSU +13 +17
                      WIU +5 +10
                      IUPUI +10 0

Frost Arena has meant an additional 11 FT attempts across 10 home/road games. Or just over one extra FTA per home game.

As I said, I wouldn't be asking you to look up FTAs if you had any legitimate point to make. Check out the FTA discrepancy at SUU and with SUU at Frost.

Note that SDSU shot more FTs on the road 60% of the time.

                        Re: IUPUI @ Frost

There was a big reason why SDSU got more free throw shots on Saturday night. They actually drove to the hoop. Did you happen to see that during the game? UIPUI was shooting a lot from the outside. Not gonna get a lot of fouls on 3 point shots and shots from just inside the 3 point line. This is the first year in a long time that SDSU has been aggressive towards the hoop. Why do you think Woodside shot so many free throws? He drove to the hoop. There could have been more fouls called on both teams. SDSU fouls were holding calls and were made not in the act of shooting. Big difference on the fouls.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

It's a trade off. compare the non called travelling on the opponents and the Jacks. especially in the womens game against PUI. Their guards were never set while holding the ball, both feet were moving never had a set pivot foot. the inside girls always took extra steps while going to the basket.

Looking at the box score from Saturday,I realized Marcus did not play at all, which is surprising since he has been playing more quality minutes lately. He looked fine during warm-ups - has anyone heard a reason why he didn't play ?
