    Re: The offical UMKC thread

How many times during the Nagy era have we been killed by teams shooting 3's? It's getting old.
Why does everyone keep posting crap about "getting killed by 3's?" What do you think, that if we had guys out blocking these threes that they would all be turnovers? If we had enough guys out to block all of these threes, we would be getting murdered on the inside with dunks and easy layups. It all comes down to which shot you want to give your opponet, either a chance at three, or a guarunteed layup or dunk. We are getting killed right now because our opponets are bigger and or faster than us. Thats it. There's no coaching problem or whatever you think, its just that the speed, size, and strength aren't on the court right now. You can't have guys both blocking the inside layups and blocking threes until you can play full man to man on them, which we can't possibly do right now.

I think you may have misunderstood OK a little bit.  Tonight it does seem that UMKC just has more talented players with better skills.  Not saying we couldn't play with them on a different night, just not tonight.  I do think its frustrating to allow a team that is making the 3 to continue to do so.  They shot 55% from the 3-point line in the first half and under 40% from inside the arc.  I can find some fault in 85's argument.  It really doesn't matter, fact is we're a bad team this year no matter what division we are competing against.  There is no shame in that, its just unfortunate the timing.  I hope the guys can continue to keep their heads up.

All that said, we're still competing in this game. I recall being down 10 with 5 minutes left in our first DI win.

7 point game, nice comeback by the Jacks. I hope we have enough left in the tank.

3 for Green, 76-72. Anybodys game now. I apologize for my earlier consternation. Any chance to win a DI game on the road, is just that and I'll take it.

Sounding a lot like the T-wolves game tonight.  Marshall killed them from the 3-point line, 6 for 8, and they couldn't overcome that defecit.  I'm hoping for a better outcome for the Jacks.  We are going to need a few breaks I suspect.
