He's the only candidate to win player of the week 2 times. He also won back in November.

Not in DEC 17 week, someone else won. This looks like old news, since Nate waon POTW in Week 1. Nothing since.

He is in the story ahead of the list on the CollegeInsider site. He is the current POTW.
              Dec. 24, 2012

BOSTON (MA) -- South Dakota State's Nate Wolters earns the Lute Olson award national player of the week honors.

The 6-foot-4 senior helped South Dakota State to its first victory over a Division I nationally-ranked opponent in history. He scored a game-high 28 points, dished out a game-high seven assists and added five rebounds in a 70-65 road victory over previously undefeated and No. 16 ranked New Mexico. It's the second time Wolters has earned the national player of the week honor this season.

Lute, a North Dakota native, and long time coach at Iowa and Arizona, is a good guy. He, certainly is partial to the western part of the country. All picks are from MW or Western states.

Grandfather went to school with him. I'm a big fan of his. Nice to see Nate get some more recognition.

Congrats to nate. Great accomplishment to get the record. Lot of games to go so will be fun to see where he ends up.

And thank you nate for coming to sdsu. With out you sdsu would be in a world of hurt.

It would be great to see a large turnout for the Oakland game since Nate will be certainly be recognized prior to tipoff for his accomplishment of the scoring record!!!

I was of the opinion that he was only 1 peg in the wheel, but based on the pathetic play of the rest of the team this year, you ain't kiddin'.

I beginning to wonder if the NBA scouts presence and everything might be having an affect on the team. There were three of them at the KC game. I guess their travel budgets do not include trips to Brookings. The one KC announcer comment on Wolters and his NBA future. He said he has to be more consistent in his shooting at the next level.

The young man is amazing. He broke the record of a player I idolized and did so with half his senior year left. He never gets rattled, he plays hard all the time and never asks out. He makes no excuses and expects the best effort from himself and those that he plays with. There has been no player better at SDSU, never ever and I'm not sure there will ever be one.

Just could not have said it any better! My journalist's hat is off to you JMD. My wife and I were with the team when Mark Tetzlaff and his crew got gipped out of a national championship. I have seen a lot of great Jackrabbit players over the past 41 years that I have been back in Brookings, and Mark was as good as they got. Nate is now the greatest I have ever watched. I would welcome being able to say that about another Jackrabbit in the future, but the bar is being set VERY high.

As a younger alumni, I sure hope the next greatest ever at SDSU comes sooner then later. Its sure fun watching greatness when it happens.
