    ROFL. Then it's done.

Beings I'm the only man in the house, I'm surrounded by giggles, it rubs off. I will have to work on my chortling.

Since I watch and follow as much NBA as probably anyone on here, and have followed the NBA draft for years. I'll say this, NEVER bet against someone succeeding in the NBA, at the same time NEVER bet on anyone succeeding in the NBA. And outside of the top 10 don't bet on anyone being a 1st round pick, or a 2nd round pick.

I can find these mock drafts of prior years where lottery picks not only weren't drafted, but they have never made a NBA roster. I can give examples of 2nd round picks or non-drafted guys who were highly successful. Every year you hear of guys who are in Europe who if they could get out of their contracts would be in the NBA. It happens, its confusing, but the way I see it in Nate's case is this.

Nate is good enough to get drafted, whether its 1st round or 2nd round will depend more on the teams then on him. After that it depends on so many factors, injuries is a big factor as well as roster situation and salary cap. Its not as easy as saying is Nate good enough to make one of the 30 rosters, its is Nate is the right situation to make that 1 NBA roster.

We can debate this all day (and night), but its pretty much wait and see right now, NBA draft is about 2 months away.

Kurt you are example A, the epitome of the point I was trying to make. Thank you. Bow down before the great Carnac because you clearly know how this is going to play out and who is defending the right and wrong position.

Yes, I made a bold prediction. Isn't that what message boards are for? I will gracefully eat crow if my prediction is wrong, without excuse.

Witness had it right. Just agree to disagree.

    - He was held to single digits only twice: vs. SDSU and Syracuse.
    - He averaged 17.4 points per game in the tournament and 19.2 for the season.
    - Six points against SDSU for the national player of the year. Enough said.
While Nate had a nice defensive performance against Burke, he also had a lot of help from his teammates.
Every defender Burke faced this season had a lot of help from his teammates.

True. The help defense in the NBA is much better.

Nate is a truly elite player.

Maybe the "beating" is related to the attitude that you're the only one supplying a dose of reality here.

That's the kind of fence riding that annoys the crap out of me.
Many players are good enough to play in the NBA but don't. I disagree with the suggestion that Nate will be one of them, but that suggestion isn't fence-riding.

There's nothing wrong with that. On the other hand, you apparently want to take a position and defend it regardless of whether you're right.

It is comical that some posters are already playing the card that he's good enough to be in the NBA, but he won't, because it's just not in the cards for him. Did you know I was good enough to win the Masters? I just didn't get the breaks I needed to get an invitation.

I've made my position clearly known, no ifs or buts about it. I have also stated that I hope he proves me wrong and both of my kids get Wolters jerseys in their stockings next year.

Would be interesting to dig up the Dale Moss thread to see what the predictions were there.

Too bad we don't have vbucks on this board.
Actually, I am just skeptical of (borderline hostile to) bold assertions amounting to declarations of precognitive ability, generally. I try to keep that skepticism to myself most of the time, but sometimes it leaks out.

Also, it should be established by now that, along with my well-documented and ill-founded hatred of IPFW, I am also (apparently) somewhat moody in my general approach to the board. Can't do much about it. Tastes like chicken.

    Chicken quiche, perhaps.

I am not one to pile on so I wont do it to TK22867. He has opinions.... People have been saying Nate Wolters is the best player to date in SDSU history, and I agree. His chances in the NBA look better than any past legend other than King Ling, Lingenfelter, who did play for Washington a couple of seasons. We hope we see him play in the NBA, but time will tell. Nate from what I understand wants to be a history teacher, but he seems determined to make some history before teaches it. Nothing wrong with those plans.

TK doesn't think Nate is going to do well in the NBA......let's get him! I'll be honest - My opinion of some of the people on this board has completely changed over the last few months.

I was just personally stating what my view is, not that you had to believe my beliefs. Honestly, I think the biggest problem is saying he is overseas or D-League is that nobody really honestly knows other than the mock drafts but after that is a total unknown. NBA potential is crazy tough to predict so we won't know until he has that chance to shine whether that be in the Summer League or during the season. I'm just going to say hes going to make it until the league tells me otherwise. I guess we can agree to disagree.

I agree with most of what you wrote. And I understand what you were saying in your post above. It was a reference to previous posters, not his opinion.

I personally think Nate will make it. Part of that might be me wearing Yellow and Blue glasses, but what I think differentiates Nate is his ability to control a game with ball handling and passing. He isn't an uber-athlete so he has relied on his basketball IQ to be successful to this point in his career. I also think his defensive ability is also under-rated. He was part of a defense that shut down Trey Burke and forced others to beat us. The others did that game. They play team defense in the NBA too, so I think he can be successful even though he isn't the quickest or tallest or "fill in the blank". There are really good point guards in the NBA who aren't what I would consider uber-athletes. Think Steve Nash.

Now that being said, that's my largely uneducated opinion, and I would not be shocked if he was drafted and landed in the D-league.

I think the biggest thing for Nate would be to get taken in the first round and get guaranteed money.

You might be right - even the most balyhooed draftees don't make it sometimes - but what else are you saying other than you don't think he is going to make it?
He was talking to jacksfan who implied that wolters should not try to get in the nba, which is not what the tk poster believes.

I'm not saying anything else, but this is not the section you bolded when you quoted me previously.
