    Re: GDT UND at SDSU

In the women's game, you didn't see k-state stop shooting the three's when they where up by 20. In fact every time we dug into thier lead they called time out just to try to slow any montum we might be getting. In D1 basketball you need to play the whole game to the best of your ability.

Exactly. Don't like the other team hitting threes? Guard somebody. Those three points didn't turn the game into a rout. Take them away and it's still a beat down. I hate all this "disrespected" BS in sports these days (e.g. the Xaviar vs. Cincy stupid-a-thon yesterday... or UND's player punching at the ball with 5 seconds left. Lame). It's a game. You lost. Life goes on. Shut your mouth and work harder.

I think UND has a lot more to worry about than a late 3-pointer. They took an old-fashioned beating prior to that point. The Jacks were very impressive.

So a thoughtless Freshman throws up a three with less than a minute, not good taste, but he will learn. This game was decided in the 15-0 run. We had a balanced effort, UND did not. On Sioux Sports, they are suggesting a coahcing change after last night. It's not much Coach Jones can do when the ball does not go into the hoop. If you took time to read last night program, they had a good write up on the coach. The guy was an assistant to Steve Alford at Iowa for 8 seasons. He knows what he is doing. I look for them to have a very good program in the Big Sky not unlike the NCC days where the UND game was the game of the year. By the size of the crowd last night, I think they expected to see a better playing UND team, but those who like to travel north might get their wish on Dec 16th.

Didn't oru do something like that to us last year in womens baksetball? Game well out of reach but wasn't it a starter or luper who took a 3 at the end of the game. I don't remember if it would have been a shot clock violation or not but I know it got the ire of us fans at the time. I personally feel that if a player is going with the intention to run it up or be a jerk taking a shot usually you can tell imo that is what a player is doing. Also you can tell that a team just needs to wait for the game to end for an easy win and will just pass ans wait till the last sexond to shot is completely different.

On the xavier and cinncy game that is awful. That halloway needs to wise up. As he said he felt disrespected and quote they is nothing like me. I know my spelling and grammar stink out loud but wow. Reading his quote to my wife, her response thems got great educations there. My thoughts were he disrespected him self by acting like a complete idiot. Maybe he needs to earn respect before people can actually disrespect him. Sorry for the drift.

Anyway glad to see a well rounded team effort every one looked effective. In the box score. I wasn't able to make the games. I took my wife on a date to the symphony again. It was the yearly holiday show and I really like it. Any one in sioux falls this afternoon it is at 2:30 I think if you want to see it.

Yes, ORU was up 15 as time expired and Luper shot a tre.

Honestly, I didn't even think anything of the last second shot by ORU.

Everyone who's whining about it must be Keith Brooking fans.
My comment made me giggle a little when I read it...that ORU play happened shortly after Keith Brooking of the Cowboys whined that the Vikings scored a late, needless touchdown, when already up by 14, instead of running out the clock.

Monaghan probably will never do that again. But in his defense,he's a freshman trying to impress and earn playing time. In the ORU case,it was their star still in the game and doing it. I would be a lot more upset if Nate or Griff had done it.

Coach from UND skipped the post-game press conference. Seriously, grow up.

                        Re: GDT UND at SDSU

Monaghan did nothing wrong. UND got its feelings hurt and apparently needed something to whine about. Maybe slapping at Prince and the ball when they were down by 38 points with 3 seconds left made them feel better. Just think. If they'd slapped the ball loose and managed to heave up a 65-foot shot, they could have cut the final margin to 35.

                          Re: GDT UND at SDSU

This game is proof that you don't recruit players based on height alone.

UND has 6 players on their roster 6'8" (two of which were 6'10" and 6"11), while SDSU only has 2 players of this height or taller. The end result was the Jacks winning the rebounding battle 42-20.

There were plenty of SDSU fans upset about the coaches not bringing in another post player this year, but ultimately after some prospects fell through (i.e. Coughill), there just wasn't anyone left that was good enough to warrant a scholarship.

It's hard for mid majors to get quality bigs, so if you can't land one, it's better to go with someone a little undersized (i.e. Griffan Callahan) than reach on a taller player that doesn't have the athleticism to compete at the DI level.
If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of payments.

I certainly don't care if Jones or UND were offended, but i admit i kind of cringed when he shot that 3. At least run the shot clock down....

To you UND.....if you don't like to get kicked than defend the ball. Zach had a wide open look and simply took the shot. I agree and upper classman may not have done that but.....again defend if you don't want him to shot. Now the real cheap effort came with a second or two with the UND playing trying to take the ball away..........UND got what they deserved.

The Jacks played great and I was impressed. Poor it on Rabbits.

Just because he coached under Steve Alford doesn't mean he knows what he is doing. Alford is one of the most overrated coaches in college basketball.

Fun night at Frost. As an SDSU fan it sure felt good watching the Rabbits drain a "3" up by 30 rather than having someone do it to us. Sweep the artist formerly known as the Sioux this week.

                                Go Rabbits!
