    Re: The Colorado Buffaloes

I am stating the obvious here, but a win against the buffs would be the building block we need going into the offseason. My guess is we're probably close to 30 point underdogs, so the odds are definitely against us. My hope is that the team is so embarrassed/upset about the SWMSU game that they come out with something to prove. I know I'm being delusional thinking we'll even be in the game, but I also watch Braveheart and hope that somehow the ending will change with each new viewing.

I can't believe you guys are getting that excited about playing CU. Take a look at who the UNC Bears have played or are going to play this season: Syracuse, New Mexico, Utah, Denver, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Colorado State, Loyala Marymount and Gonzaga. Just to name the ones off the top of my head. Step it up SDSU! I know we're getting are butts kicked, but it ultimately helps the program in the end. Think of all the $$$$$ we are getting!

I suppose Gameday is going to be live from Boulder and everything. : This has been a much anticipated showdown. If it turns out like the Southwest game you will be hoping that Gameday isn't covering it. ;D
Happy Valentine's Day everyone, hopefully St. Valentine is looking down on the Jacks tonight. I'll be rooting for them.

You crack me up.  UNC talking about Men's Basketball. :    Do you ever do any research before you post?

          http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/bkt0405.htm

          252  South Dakota State =  67.28 - Schedule = 77.43(  43)
          302  Northern Colorado =  62.39 - Schedule =  74.57( 132)

We are rated higher then you and our schedule is ranked 43 most difficult compared to yours at 132nd most difficult.

Looks like you guys might want to "step it up".

          Go State!  ;D

P.S. uncbearsfan, you are ahead of NDSU, maybe you should try this on their board.  Although their schedule is tougher then yours also.

          310  North Dakota State      =  61.24 -  Schedule = 77.08(  50)

            Re: The Colorado Buffaloes

Why doesn't UNC step it up and play a game against their former NCC rivals? UNC you also should remember that you are a year ahead in the process making UNC a D1 when playing other D1's while the SU's are seen as being a D2 team. This makes it harder to get games against quality teams since our D2 status affects their RPI's and schedule strength, making it harder for that team to get an at large bid to the big dance. Hopefully SDSU can give the Buffalos a good game, good luck.

Those rankings are not based on strength of schedule alone. There is no way you guys have a tougher schedule then us. I have seen reports that UNC has the 20th ranked most difficult schedule. It was posted on our official website Uncbears.com.

They have a very DI-heavy schedule, I'd agree. I wonder about those schedule ratings sometimes.

                    Re: The Colorado Buffaloes

It is not the strength of schedule that keeps D-I from scheduling SDSU and NDSU this year (as we do not count for RPI purposes this year).  It is the limitation on playing only 4 Non D-I schools per seaon that is the culprit.  I would expect to see UNC on both NDSU and SDSU's schedule next season.

If we really want to compare apples to apples we would need to compare last year's UNC schedule with this year's SDSU and NDSU schedules, because we would all be operating under the same rules.

Did I mention that it took UNC a season and a half to win their first D-I Men's Basketball game?  SDSU has already won two in our first season.   ;D

                    Go State!  ;D

I never thought I would see the day when someone from UNC would be running smack about basketball.

They are big, our outside shots are going to have to fall. Plus we may get in foul trouble down low.
