I noticed. the picture actually proves students use to go to games and use to stand even. I know this is nothing compared to what it use to be like even, but how good the teams are, we as fans and students need to step it up.

The picture proves that those students went to that game.

Look at attendance numbers. It is pretty noticeable difference. Students are counted in attendance. You don't have to take offense from it, but overall student attendance is weak compared to when I was there, and it was weak when I was there compared to years before me.

I used to have more pictures from when I worked at the Brookings Register to prove how raucus and full Frost Arena used to be in the 80's too. That place used to have awesome atmosphere. I just wish my family life wasn't so busy and we didn't live 6+ hours from Brookings or I could contribute. (The body paint would not likely happen as it doesn't look as good now and my kids would disown me.)

that is where we got our copy from, we made the front page, that was back when the paper showed fan support. I doubt they could get a picture with a full rowdy student section now.

You very well may be right; I don't care enough to look. What I said was definitely right, though.

How about someone like Colton Iverson? According to James Cimburek's (the Yankton P & D sports editor), Iverson has been released from his scholarship at Minnesota.

According to an email from his father, Colton Iverson has been granted a release from his scholarship at Minnesota.

An example of how fast things can potentially change in men's basketball . . .

If--hypothetically--SDSU brings in Cougill, Crayton, and Iverson, then in 2012-13 SDSU would be able to put on the court a senior all-conference point guard, two Big 10 recruit centers, all as seniors, and a junior Big 12 recruit power forward.

That lineup would give a lot of people problems, I think. And I'm not talking just within the Summit League.

Obviously, that would be like driving through town and hitting ALL the green lights (including the ones marked "can pass all their classes" and "are good off-court teammates as well as on-court performers") but teams can make big jumps in men's basketball just that fast.
                  "I think we'll be OK"

Re: What do we need to make the next step.

Iverson has to sit out a year if he stays in Division 1, and has one year of eligibility left, according to the story out this morning. So he wouldn't play here next year, even if he came here. And I'm not hearing that Cougill is leaning our way, although it would be great if he is.

I heard that, per Iverson release agreement from the Gophers, he could not play for anyone that was on the Gopher's schedule. That's what I heard.
When you put on that jersey, the name on the front is more important than the name on the back.

Are they on our schedule in 2 years? He would have to sit out a year, does that factor into that at all?
