Does anybody else think "we don't match up well" is a cop out?

I'll raise my hand. I'm much more in the "put any other uniform on the NDSU players the last two years and SDSU wins 3 out of 4" camp.
NDSU has our guys competely "mindf#$ked", and I'm soooo sick of it it makes me want to throw up everytime I think about it.
When I heard Nagy in the post-game comments poo-poo that NDSU is in our heads, I about wanted to pick my computer up and throw it though the wall.
And I'm one of the biggest Nagy apologists out there!!!!!!!!!!
Damitt anyway...I swore I wasn't going to talk or even think about those arrogant P'sOS from the north until next FB season...Thanks SF_RAbbit!

Go Jacks!!
Sounds like NDSU got in your head also.

No doubt about it...it seems to be going around lately. But the best part of being a fan is that I can call a spade a spade if I want, considering, as a fan, I can't do anything about it. The coaches and players have to and when it comes to NDSU, I'm not seeing the urgency.
I'll bet there's some urgency if SDSU decides to clam up and lose 4-5 straight to our friends down south over the next few years.
If they don't match-up well against SDSU, then why would the team try to do things they normally wouldn't?
Ask the players and coaches staff that question. There is nothing that athletic about NDSU and those are the kinds of teams that usually give us fits. IMHO it's all mental.

Nothing that athletic about NDSU?! Did you see all of those dunks?!

I think you're both right. A lot of it is mental, with Nagy and the players. But NDSU has good athletes. Tveidt is so smooth and fluid; he makes everything on a basketball court look effortless. And whoever was doing those put back dunks at Frost was ridiculously athletic. There's a difference between normal dunks and the plays he was making.

I don't think even the most ardent Bison fans would call their team very athletic. Tveidt and Wright yes. Wright has done nothing against the rest of the league and we make him look all-league. Someone dunks the ball and you think they are athletic. LOL
Time to drop this conversation and turn the focus to IPFW. I suspect its going to be much closer than the previous 2 games for a number of reasons. It's hard to beat a team 3 times in a row because the better team is generally as good as they are and the team that has been beaten has a chance to make adjustments and improve.
Now, SDSU didn't do that against a few opponents this season so there is no guarantee that IPFW will be any different either but I expect they will.

I agree that it is both mental and a little bit of athleticism. I also don't think the only reason SDSU lost was due to NDSUs athletic ability, but it did play a factor in their rebounding advantage to say the very least. Its all mental and pathetic in my opinion. But to say that 'there is nothing athletic about NDSU' is not a true statement. I understand a lot of people can dunk.

I agree. IPFW scares me and it would really put a damper on the season if SDSU was bumped from the tournament this quickly; especially after their loss to NDSU. I think its a must win or there is going to be a lot of fans pissed off, including me.

I guess I never understood the logic that it's hard to beat a team three times. Right now we just have to beat them once and SDSU is the better team than IFPW and both teams know it. I believe SDSU will go out and show it in a very partisan enviroment.
