Might be harsh,but Blake Hoffarber is not a point guard. Since Al Nolen went out with his bad foot(again) and De"Quitter" Joseph bailed on the team at mid-season,the really promising Gopher season has gone down the tubes. Hoffarber is not a great ball-handler,and doesn't get the scoring chances he got playing the off-guard since he switched to the point.

I believe that MD's "Wow" was a suggestion for a Nate nickname, and not directed at your comments.

No the name applies after reading the post by our Oakland friend, Hoops in another thread who stated that every Oakland fan he had talked to was impressed with Nate. He is just your All American kid who works hard and makes things happen for the team. Watching him yesterday, he was very impressive.

Nate picks up his third POTW from the Summit. How can he miss being selected to the first team Summit League.

Hope he can lead Jacks to that great game against NDSU, then through the Summit League tourney.

Nate picks up his third POTW from the Summit. How can he miss being selected to the first team Summit League.

I think he gets some votes for Player of the Year as well. Here is a link to a the "Bleacher Report" and the top pure scorers in the nation. Nate ranks 3rd in all of DI.

Terry V reported today on the 910 Sports Talk show that Nate is the only DI player that is averaging 19pts and 6+ assists per game.

you could make an argument that Wolters is having a better year then Benson, however Benson will get it because hes a senior and still having a really good year.

Personally I'd put Wolters first team, Sargent second team (he was on it last year and his numbers are just a good) Dykstra and White on the All-Newcomer list

Dykstra newcomer of the year (will be close with the kid from Oakland)

could also make argument for Dykstra to be 6th man of the year (though he did start for a while) could be one of those where he gets one and the kid from Oakland gets the other.

Wolters is having a really good year, but I'm expecting a few others to get some post season honors

Benson will get POY. Anytime that a mid-major has a legit NBA first-rounder, it is pretty hard to give it to anyone else. But, Nate could steal a vote or two.

Dykstra has to be in the conversation for Newcomer of the year, but that kid from ORU is pretty tough too...

Also, one thing that doesn't show up in the stats for Benson is his incredible defensive. I was really impressed watching how he affected the rest of their team's D. They were able to gamble more because they knew they had a safety net. Nate is a hell of a player and having a great year, but IMO Benson deserves it this year.
