  • Re: Nate Wolters is the best gaurd in The Summit

I would like to see him improve his upper body strength. That would allow him to draw contact, and still get off the runner in the lane. I would like to see him drawing more fouls, and shooting more free throws.

I agree with this whole-heartedly. He is a great shooter, but if he can become a guy that drive the lane, get hacked, as still make the play; then I think that he truly becomes an elite player. Having that ability to drive and finish will open up the ability to open and then dish off. And, with the talent that they will have the next couple years, we could see amazing numbers when it comes to scoring and assists.

Nate is on pace to set a new sophomore season scoring record, and Clint Sargent should end up #1 in career 3's (by 30+), single season, and I hope he goes off on Oakland in S. Falls to set a new single game 3's.

I appreciate what Nate brings to this team. Amazing that SDSU almost screwed up getting him to Brookings.

Likewise. I imagine it's a huge stretch for Nate to make the NBA, but it's fun to think about.

Plain and simple. Nate = Best PG in the Summit. No question about it.

Um, yeah. I'd say close the thread. People who want to argue might as well talk to the wall.

If NDSU would have gotten this guy maybe their recruits would have changed, but with the guys they have now they would be the 2nd best team in the league and would be favorites to win it the next two years. The Jacks would be fighting to get in the tournament and we would be looking up at them for years. Whew is what I say to that.

Can I watch that de-pantsing of Alex Young again? Or maybe the sick pass against the Hawkeyes?

And there were 3 DI teams interested in him. SDSU, NDSU, and Colorado St.

I would venture to guess the Gophers would love to have him on their squad right about now.

That's my favorite so far. Saw TV call him World one time. I don't like THE in front of it. Just 'World'

This might sound dumb, but hear me out.

Nate "The Cloud" Wolters (TC for short)

                          1-He's from St. Cloud.
2-Clouds bring rain (he makes it rain 3's).
3-He has been known to get up in the air (at least 3 dunks this year)
4-There could be some pretty cool "To The Cloud" promotional videos the athletic dept could do like the Microsoft commercials (late in the game, down by 2, what do we do? Cut to Nagy "TO THE CLOUD").

Either that or "Nasty" Nate Wolters.

They would love to have any point guard on their roster now

Might be harsh, but Blake Hoffarber is not a point guard. Since Al Nolen went out with his bad foot(again) and De"Quitter" Joseph bailed on the team at mid-season,the really promising Gopher season has gone down the tubes. Hoffarber is not a great ball-handler,and doesn't get the scoring chances he got playing the off-guard since he switched to the point.
