Should be fun watching these three highly recruited posts matchup with each other the next 4 years. One thing that I like is Dykstra's 3pt%. Yes, his FG% and FT% are low but thats something you can work on. The other two Bjorklund/Gruis will never develop a perimeter game and that's something Dykstra can use to his advantage. Thoughts?

I wouldn't call a 47.5 fg% low, it's barely lower than Michael Jordan's career percentage. I've been looking forward to the Bjorklund/Dykstra matchup for quite a while.

And not unexpected if he has more of perimeter game than the other two.

I am really excited to see these guys play for the next few years. Talent begets talent. The more players that can be recruited to the area, the more people's eyes will be opened to the level of play here.

That being said, I am pulling for Jordan to be the best!

You're right, I was just comparing the three FG percentages though.

I would be impressed if Dykstra kept the 3 point percentage high, but since he's only taken 5 three pointers, the data pool is a bit too small. I'm sure Shaq went 9 for 10 from the charity strip at one point in his career (ok maybe not, haha), but that doesn't mean he's a good free throw shooter.

It won't be 60%, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see 35-40%. His stroke is pretty sweet, and he pretty much only shoots it when he has time to set. He won't ever make 60 3's in a year, but he will be a threat and make it tough to defend.

3 FG%'s as in each different player's FG%, not Dykstra's 3 point %. When compared to the other two players, he is lower, but like someone said, it probably has a lot to do with how he plays outside too.

Have seen Gruis in person, and Dykstra on the webcasts on gojacks - If Gruis is 20 lbs heavier, someone else had their foot on the scale when they weighed him.

I agree, he looks skinny from what I see on the midco channel for their games. Wish things would have worked out differently, Gruis would have looked really good in Yellow and Blue, and black unis now. usd got a steal with him I think.

                      Re: Dykstra/Bjorklund/Gruis Watch

I am very, very, very happy that, out of the three, we have Jordan. The main reason is b/c he's a terrific kid (Gruis and Marshall might be great kids too, I don't know). Jordan has already gave shout outs to the crowd and the student section. He was on facebook talking about bringing the tradition back to Frost. In speaking w/ him he talked about how happy he is at State and how he is glad God guided him away from ISU and to SDSU. On top of that he's a heckuva player!

I haven't watched Bjorkland play, but, right now, I think Jordan is a much better player than Gruis, a much tougher matchup and way more athletic. If he keeps making treys imagine how tough it will be for defenses to try and guard him, Nate, Sarg, White and Griff.

I don't know $h*t about Bjorklund or Gruis but I hope I end up liking Dykstra because he's the best player of the three and not because he gives shout outs to fans.

Well, I really appreciate the fact that he's reaching out to the fanbase, to the student section. That can ONLY help get butts in seats and bring awareness to the program. I love the fact that he talks about bringing tradition back to Frost. That speaks volumes. It also shows he's a fine young man and not some punk kid who thinks his poo doesn't stink.

                            Re: Dykstra/

The numbers mean nothing when it comes to Jordan Dykstra! His qualities on the court are way deeper than that. His defense is awesome, and he is trying to get people fired up and even showing leadership by telling players to slow down and run the offense.
I beleive that the last game aganist Nevada, Nagy finally let him show more of his skill set and made him a option on the offensive end and come this Saturday and the other conference games he will be a force.

One current player stated that he is the best player he has ever played with, without a doubt!

I think Bjorklund has a leg up on Dykstra so far.

                              Bjorklund vs Dykstra
                              Min: 21.1 vs 19.8
                              Pts: 10.4 vs 7.3
                              Reb: 5.8 vs 4.9
                              Ast: .9 vs 1.2
                              TO: 1.2 vs 1.3
                              Stl: .6 vs .9
                              Blk: .7 vs .7
                              FG%: 71.9 vs 42.1
                              FT%: 64.7 vs 60.0
