22 (20 scholarship and 2 preferred walk-ons). You can see a list of the recruits on the 1st post of this thread.

Scout lists Justin Jackson as committing to San Diego.

I am still hoping we get a big DT. There are still some names on the interest list that have not committed. Maybe this will be a signing day surprise.

Maybe this has already been discussed somewhere that I missed...but how does all this work?

Obviously, being a senior, after this year, Moss will have used up his 4 years of basketball.

It's already been mentioned that he could possibly play football this year as well.

I don't know what he's majoring in, but what if he were to stay in school past 4 years? Say he switched majors or something and had to go 2 more years to finish school...

Could he play football for more than just this year? There must be some sort of regulations in place to prevent this.

Not that it'd make any sense at all for him to do so if it were possible.

Short of having a medical redshirt year, a player has five years to complete athletic eligibility from the time he/she graduates from high school. There are some other small anomolies, but that covers most situations. So while he has used up his four years of competition in basketball, he can still play football for one season.

You get 10 semesters to complete four years of eligibility in any sports. You can only compete in 4 seasons of any one sport. A season is defined by competing against players outside of your own teammates, so, you can practice but not play in games (redshirt).

So, since Dale did not redshirt he has 2 more semesters of college athletics eligibility. However, he has played his 4 seasons of basketball so he cannot play anymore college basketball. He can play another sport as long as he does not exceed the 10 semester rule. Ketty Corneman is doing the same thing playing VB this year.

Medical redshirts or similar exemptions only remove the season of play, the 10 semesters still apply (I think).

If you redshirt, then get hurt in your 5th year, you can apply for a 6th year.

I thought there was some situations were you could get an extra semester/season. I don't think you would be allowed to play a different sport with the exemption but I don't know for sure.

There were 3 that I know of. Saw Jimmy Rogers showing a kid from Florida around. Potential corner/safety. Another kid was from California and I don't know where the 3rd was from.

In TV's article today they said they were planning on signing one 3 star recruit, five 2 star recruits, & 3 players of the year.

3 star: Bryan Burke (was coming out of HS; currently a JUCO)

2 star: J.R. Plote, Ben Muff, Jimmie Forsythe, JeRyan Butler, & ???????

                            Who's the 5th?

Players of the Year: Reggie Gandy, Eric Kline, & Jimmie Forsythe

Edit: Nevermind, found it on Terry V's website. Reggie Gandy is a 2 star recruit. It's not marked in the first page of this thread.
