Add Doug Peete OLB Olathe, Kansas to the list. He was first team all-state any class. Apparently, he had offers from the Air Force Academy and Army. He is a one star recruit. It sounds like another great addition for the Jacks.

Awesome...great news on both the QB (Mondol) and OLB (Peete). I will continue to update the list so we have a record of it here, but I will also place a permanent link to Terry's list. I will also be taking the Kendall Ledbetter kid off the list as he isn't on Terry's list.

It would be nice if we could keep a running list over on the AGS board. As some of you probably know, there is a 2009 Missouri Valley Committment thread. Anyone interesed in doing some copying and pasting? If not, I can probably try knock it out this evening.

Anyone mind asking TV today in the chat if he knows how many scholarships we will be giving out this year? Who we are still looking at for those spots or what positions we still are looking at? The last few years, we have held a scholarship or so until after signing day to look for any kids that fall through the cracks on signing day. I wonder if we will take that approach again this year?

I didn't realize that there is another live chat today - you might be a day behind, so correct me if I'm wrong. In yesterdays live chat, he mentioned we'd bring in 3-5 more players on scholarship... So, after today's 2 committments, we are down to 1-3 more players!

I really like the verbals we have to date. Any insight on how many more there may be. I thinks we need another DL.

Yes, the team is still looking for some help in the defensive line. And there could be another quarterback and a linebacker yet to come. So maybe 3-5 more players, not counting the prefered walk-ons.

Depth is a good thing to have, and the Jacks might have 3 QB's who could all vie for a starting spot. It should be a fun spring.
The best thing is that we'll have them all for spring ball, so the coaches will have plenty of time to figure out who's the man for the fall.

I think it's worth noting that two of these young men will be here in large part because of Coach Bailey's connections and his reputation for teaching QBs.
                  Holy nutmeg!

Yeah I guess I didn't realized he had it yesterday, I thought they were usually on Thurs. Thanks, I will go check it out. Looks like someone had the same questions!

Ben Erickson, (WR - Greendale HS, WI) on our prospect list, has committed to Illinois State... What a waste of talent, but glad he chose ISU over NDSU.

Thanks for finding that. I will take him off the list.

He wanted to be close to home. I think Illinois State is the closest FCS team to the Milwaukee area. Like you said, at least it wasn't to the Bison.

Phil Wright from O'Gorman chooses UNI....
This was the one other in-state kid I hoped we could land. His father played at Arizona State. We have not had much luck with O'Gorman kids as Josh Mahoney another O'Gorman is a standout at UNI and several have committed to USD. Dykhouse is the last one from there to play at State from a program where success is expected and they produce a lot of talent. What a great class we have assembled so far!

Great class. It appears the Jacks are turning their biggest question mark, QB, into a position of depth and strength. There could be three or four potential starters on the team next season. Hopefully the O-line and D-backfield have been shored up too.

Another Verbal Committ (per TV blog roll)

Pat Brown, 6-1, 180, CB/R, Bettendorf, Iowa. Elite all-state pick by the Des Moines Register and second-team all-state selection by the Iowa Newspaper Association. Has qualified for the state track meet in four sprinting events.
