Now you are getting into my area of expertise...How 'bout quarter Bucky long necks @ Hort's? Was that on Tuesday and Thursday or just Friday nights? $.75 pitchers at Jim's on Wednesdays. And JD, don't forget about your buddy, Nutsy!!! Anyway, Wahl to Tief, great combo, but after my time at school.

As much as I enjoy discussion about boozin' up in Brookings, shouldn't this discussion be in the lounge section? Got some major thread drift going on here.

      Also, I like pie.

Very much agree about the drift. Lets get back to recruits. Has anyone heard anything about a QB next year? Getting very close to signing day and I have not heard much.

I believe they have an offer out to a high schooler from Arizona and to a JuCo..... they have had contact with a few FCS transfers and are also looking at a few high school quarterbacks in the region.... Quarterback is a weird recruiting position... unlike every other position, there is generally 1 starter all year at that position..... A lot of FBS schools will have offers out or contact with 3-4 quarterbacks but when 1 accepts they'll remove the offers so you will get a lot of QB's falling back.... don't be worried that we don't have a verbal yet....

I would expect that we will have recruits in every weekend in January as we make the final push to signing day. Any of our insiders have the scoop on who visited this weekend?

I would venture to guess no one as there are no athletes here to host the high school seniors. I do know in the group that visited with Mr. Tice and Mr. Parker was six guys that had played quarterback sometime in their high school career. I think one of them was Tiefenthaler. I also know there was six recruits in that next week after.

After friday night in Fort Wayne make sure the recruits only get taken to the womens games until the men prove themselves worthy again this month.

It appears LB Cordero Finley has verballed to North Dakota, so he can be taken off the list.

                    From TV's blog

Meanwhile, the SDSU football team has a fourth verbal commitment - and on paper it's a biggie. Safety Eric Koehlmoos led Pierce High to consecutive Class C-1 state titles and was a first-team all-Nebraska pick as a senior despite missing four games due to a hamstring injury. He also set a class record for most career touchdowns playing at Nick Flesner's alma mater. But what sets Koehlmoos apart from most prior recruits is the recruiting hype. ESPN.com gave him a grade of 69. He had a scholarship offer from Wyoming. Rivals.com had him as a two-star recruit and ranked him as the No. 8 senior in the state during the preseason.

No clue on who visited, but add another name to the commits...sounds like a very good get:

Eric Koehlmoss said Saturday that he has made a verbal commitment to play at SDSU. The 6-foot, 195 pound Koehlmoss let Pierce (Neb.) High School to two Slass C-1 state championships, earned all-state honors three times and received a scholarship offer from Wyoming. He is projected as a safety.

Edited: Must have been typing as your post appeared Mango4, so a duplicate.

Here is what ESPN INSIDER had to say:http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recru...3dstateChanged
                            Evaluation

This quarterback and safety is the take charge guy on his team. He has decent size and above average speed as a two way player. Many project him as a free safety because of his intelligence, instincts and ability to go up for the interception which he has recorded eight of on the defensive side of the ball. As a quarterback, has a good touch on the football. Can drop the pass just over top of or between defenders. Even though he throws a little sidearm and doesn't display a high release, he has very good timing on his release. Can throw the football on sprint out action; throws on the run or can pull up to deliver the pass. Doesn't appear to have an exceptionally strong arm but is very accurate. A proven running threat as a quarterback. Will tuck the ball away on sprint action or when stepping up in the pocket. Talented enough as a runner to make defenders miss in the openfield. Makes good decisions on when to run and reads his blockers well when going north and south. Koehlmoos is a good football player that is very competitive and seems a better athlete the more you observe him in action.

Sounds like a high-quality prospect. Wonder if he'll play right away? The Jacks could use some help at safety.

Hopefully, we will get some help there from the redshirt freshman class. The new recruit sounds promising but will have to be VERY good (think Cole Brodie) to have his redshirt pulled IMHO. Does anybody know any reports on the incoming RFR's who might help out in the secondary??
