In case everyone has not heard the spring game for Saturday has been moved to Wednesday the 30th at 6:30 due to snow. Will spring practice ever get over?
This (denial) is exactly why we have "support groups". Thanks again for hosting.
Now, back on topic..... One of our nurses at the clinic, Mrs. Crumly, is trying her best to swap with another nurse so she can make the trip up to Brookings to see her son play on Wednesday. Anyone with nursing experience willing to help her out?
MD, if I didn't have to help with After-prom party set-up tonight, we could have had a little man party in the garage with a little dip and some beer. You could counsel me like you did last fall during FB. BTW, flat panel TV is ready to go in garage...
Here is a picture of the conditions here in Brookings (for those of you out of the area) as of 15 minutes ago..I just can't figure out why the game was cancelled!
*edit: It may not look horrendous, but add the 1/2" of icy crap on the bottom and 5 or 6" of wet snow on top, along with visibility at about 600 feet and it's getting pretty treacherous.....fun to drive in if you have 4 wheel drive though!

Spring Game details finalized and this time the weather should be nice and warm!
Several promotions have been added to the lineup for the Jackrabbit football team's annual Spring Game Wednesday night at Coughlin-Alumni Stadium.
Kickoff is now set for 7 p.m. to coincide with the completion of the Jackrabbit softball team's scheduled doubleheader with Iowa State. No admission will be charged.
Starting at 6 p.m., the first 250 fans can participate in a "Feed the Fans" burger feed compliments of Burger King. Children eighth grade and under can join the team for on-field stretching at 6:40 p.m., and later have their pictures taken in Jackrabbit gear. An autograph session with players will follow the game.
In addition, all fans can have their pictures taken with the Dakota Marker trophy, which will be on display at the stadium.
The game will be broadcast live on WNAX 570 AM and audio will be streamed online through the Jackrabbit Extra at GoJacks.com. Coverage begins at 6:45 p.m.
I think our defense is even better than last year. We are VERY deep but inexperienced in the secondary. It will be interesting to see who comes out as starters even though it has the possibility to change from week to week. Our linebackers are studs. Seemed like every play made was by Rogers, Domino, Jackson, or Cool. Very impressed with their speed and reactions to what was happening around them. Our D-Line made a couple of impressive stands. It looks like Schroeder is healthy and he will definetely be someone that teams have to look out for all year long. I had been hearing good things about Fischer and I wasn't dissapointed. He is a high motor guy like Battan and they compliment each other well on the edge.
The offense was another story. Berry and Jones had their moments where they looked really good but I was most impressed with Jeske. He is athletic and mobile and I see us using him in a Kardoes type of offense. Kyle Minnet is pretty damn good. But we do need someone to compliment him because I'm not sure if he is a workhorse back. Whenever I would think Minnet is down he would spin for 3-5 more yards. The rest of the backs looked hesitant but that will hopefuly change with some experience. We have a large amount of young raw recievers but I think they could be fun to watch. Some that caught my eye were Brandon Gant, Justin Mitchell, and Teddy Shonka. They are all R-FR or Soph. I think we are set at tight end with Cochart and Beyer. I was impressed with their blocking and catching. They made some nice plays. Offensive line still needs to be retooled a bit but I'm sure that Meadows will get them where they need to be. These are just some simple observations and some players that jumped out to me. O yeah the kicking game struggled...
