We'll get those bleachers replaced with a nice new grandstand as soon as you build a basketball arena that is nicer than my high school's gym.

Some more pics of the Dykhouse Center. Seems to be coming along nicely, the last couple photos show a good view of the Center in comparison to the stands and field.

Some more pics popped up today showing progress of the Dykhouse Center. Check them out by selecting the link on the main page at www.gojacks.com. The graphic highlighting the progress of the Dykhouse Center is now up again on the main page, just down a little further from where it was.

Its good to see some progress. I hope that in the next few weeks they will start flying on the external brick work, windows, roof so that sometime in September at least the exterior can start to look like something other than a pile of cement blocks.

It would be nice to have the outer shell in some kind of shape by the time Georgia Southern comes to town although I know that is probably a lot to ask given that it is less than 6 weeks away.

Your wish has been granted RabbitGuy. The roof now has metal beams from end to end and the brink work has started on both the west and the south side that faces the playing field. Its a much bigger building than I was imagining. Great addition to our program. Plenty of other things to upgrade as well.

Tell me, when the Dykhouse Student Center is done will we than do away with those ugly trailer houses to the east? Hope so.

I drove by the site on the way from Watertown to Sioux Falls this past weekend and was pleased with the progress. The outward appearance should change rapidly now.

Re: News regarding the Dykhouse Center

Just took a look. The center section of the first level has brick entirely on the front side. The two "wings" are about 3' up in brick on the front.

My overall impression: It's a huge building. It seems much larger now that the second floor and roof are on. It really closes in the north end of the stadium.

I'd love to see the progress people are posting about. I checked gojacks.com and the last photos they have listed are from August 3rd I believe.

Here are some pix I just shot. I tried to include the grandstand in some so you can see the scale I'm talking about... the building is very large.

Dykhouse Center from west (notice roof detail that resembles the new Wellness Center):

Again from the west. Look closely and you can see workers on the scaffold in front that help with the scale:

From the south with the grandstand for scale:

Again from the south, you can see the bricks going on the facade in the center and on the two "wings":
                        Holy nutmeg!

Great pictures JJ. The more I see the project develope, I can not help but think how this building will affect the fg kickers and will the building be a sufficient wind break and take some of the wind factor out of certain games where the coin toss will not be a big deal? Winning the toss gives you control over who has the wind in the fourth quarter sometimes.

No doubt a huge improvement. Does anyone have any updates on the financial progress of this project?

I'll say. I wish my lawn looked like that. And it really looks even better in person.
