Honestly though, flannel sheets are the best for winter. They don't get as cold as the normal bed sheet fabric. I swear to crap, normal bedsheets are so cold, when I get into bed my cahones just right up and crawl back into the cave from whence they came.

Why add fuel to the fire? If the band doesn't play at home games in November, why would they play on the road? I'm sure the NDSU fans would love to hear them play.
JimmieTuba- If you wanted to play on the road, did you want to play at home games in November?
If it's all about the cold just say so.
I think the school wouldn't care 1 way or the other because they knew that game was going to be a sellout. Why put 300 band members in the stands when you can have 300 paying fans? NDSU had a doubleheader in basketball after going DI. They had both a football and basketball game on TV. SDSU seems more like they want fans in the seats to make more money. The band makes money at "other" games but against NDSU it probably costs them money.
I don't know how much money the band members on scholarship make. Do they put in more hours than the basketball teams? I think 6 football games isn't totally out of line. If the band members that are "walkons" don't want to play, that's up to them. People join the band to go to the Rose Bowl but the don't want to play at home games?
Where does the money go that we pay for parking? I think I saw a sign that said, "Park for the Pride". If we pay to park and they get the money, they should be playing. I could be wrong but I think that's where the money goes.
I'm glad the band went to the Rose Bowl parade(even though I only saw them for 1 minute). It's still good publicity.
At least next year, we play NDSU in October. I prefer playing them in November because they struggle in cold weather. The band should still be playing then. Hopefully we have more seating by then.
Games just aren't the same without the band.

I never really wanted to march on the field just not my thing. I loved being in the stands. Yeah my boys went into hibernation every October Saturday we had to play but it was worth it.

Too many people are making the arguement that since it was NDSU the band should be there. I say since it is a football game some band should be there. I always volunteered for pep band duties. That is why I continued the play. The stands were the rush for me. Not the field.

The parking for the pride is for general band costs. Upkeep of the instruments (especially the drums), travel costs for not just the pride but the drumline and the Hare Raising Brassline. Which reminds me, if McKinney doesn't want the full band to march in Novemeber, bring in the drumline and brassline. They put on a heck of a show just by themselves. The parking money was first started for the initial Rose Parade and now it helps for scholarships and everything else with the band.

Jack4Life, I was trying to make a link from thread killing to something so obviously ridiculous that nobody would wnat to go any farther. I tried and obviously failed in my attempt to kill the thread.

1stRow: I figured that is what was going on and I posted with tongue in cheek. I would hope that all that followed your post felt the same way, otherwise, we are in a world of hurt...Maybe we should start a thread for the Metrosexual. That is one my wife wouldn't have to worry about me reading. Heck, my biggest decision is what shade a kahki or blue should I wear and what SDSU apparel or fleece to wear to work.

                      Jack4Life,
No problem, it was taken as intended. Hopefully someone else will come up with a better way to kill this off, or

possibly a moderator could lock it up.
