Kratch has a Masters Degree in Sports Psychology. I would think they are looking for a direct replacement with similar qualifications.

Castora would be more suited to a Sports Information role but not sure if there’s a direct correlation for his type of journalism.

Sell mentioned the NIL stuff was in the works prior to the shakeup. This just ramped up the announcement.

Be patient. There is a lot financially being asked of many parties right now and it may take some time to firm things up.
I updated my signature for the first time in six years.

I noticed he mentioned working for himself when he asked Jackson the "proudest moment" question, which Jackson highlighted as a great question.

I don't think he'd be as fiery as Kracht was, but I think he'd bring a unique set of attributes in terms of program history, culture, and individual player motivations and stressors. Plus, he was a DI college athlete.

One of the media outlets needs to put Tanner on staff. This guy has provided the best coverage of this transition. He's scooped Zimmer and Borg, the two legacy media guys that otherwise seem to have the best takes on the Jacks. Tanner, JI and Splittin' Hares have outworked the legacy media beat guys by a mile over the last two weeks. I'd hate to lose Tanner as an outsider who is able to get an inside view.

I don't think the collective was actually operating. There's a bit of rumbling that the lack of action on NIL played a at least a small role in the mass exodus of the coaching staff. I think that it's only finding its legs now.

I'm giving this thread another bump. I thought I'd simply give up on college athletics before contributing to NIL. But I changed my mind and if you were like me but want to see SDSU compete and do well, you need to change your mind too. There's a famous line: "All the past we leave behind." We live in a world where NIL is going to make a difference between the teams that succeed and the teams that don't. If you don't think we can compete and make a difference, look at the Bison - they appear to have gone unscathed and kept some guys around that could have commanded big bucks. And I would bet that they were able to do so at a small fraction of what was being offered by P4 schools. You can continue to bitch about NIL, portal, etc., which will do you no good and you might as well take up other interests. Or you can make a difference and contribute what you can. $10/month. $25/month. $50/month. It will all add up and help. Or, we can turn into Northern Iowa, a once great program that no one gives a **** about. Do your part or quit bitching. Its the world we live in.

The difference between our collective and NDSUs is that NDSUs actually provides value to their customers. Insider interviews, events, etc. SDSU is just an offering plate. Until there is value to the customer, most people will continue giving their money to the Jackrabbit Club and other things that actually provide direct value.

If Gaskins is SF Live's version of Izzo, maybe Castora could be their version of Peterson, assuming Zim is a better Kolpack

Give it a little time. Although it launched last year, it never got off the pad. It's just launched now and I would assume that these types of things will be in the offering. From what I hear, a re-launch was always in the works but was expedited due to the upheaval in the FB program.

The biggest takeaway, though, is that if we as fans want a championship level football team, it isn't a matter of choosing between the Jackrabbit Club or Jacked NIL or other recipients, its going to have to be all of the above. The direct value of NIL is going to be better players and player retention.

This is 100% accurate. As we have done in the past, we should follow NDSU's lead on this.
