Folks like Matt Anderson are whose names should adorn our stadiums, so I'll be disappointed if that rumor about Jimmy being fined is true.

What sort of shirt could it have been?

Pretty sure it's the one he's wearing for Murray State postgame (see 9:10min mark going forward).

I've tried to let this thing slide, but it's tough. Like some of you said, when Jimmy says what he did about supposedly being a lifelong homer and then basically disappears in the middle of the Christmas season, it's a bit unnerving, to say the least. I remember Gronowski saying that the reason he hadn't transferred is because "the grass is pretty fricking green" in Brookings. All the emotional interviews on the JSN podcast from Cubbies had me sold on Jimmy being a lifer at SDSU. He freaking cried on air numerous times, for Christ sake. I get it that money talks, but nobody needs millions of dollars to make a living. That's my point. We're talking about overpaid coaches and now players that have to decide how big of a house or how many new cars they can "afford", while guys like me scrape together enough money to fly to a playoff game from across the country, because we love Jackrabbit football, and all that it stands for. I'm still paying back student loans, too. I also applied to be the equipment manager for the team, and got zero response. It stings. I was in the Pride of the Dakotas marching band when Jim McKinney retired, and that is what this reminds me of, in some ways. We had a few director changes, and the band was never the same. Overnight success and greed is the name of the game in Division 1 football, and it makes a mockery of guys like Stig and McKinney, who spent half their lives building South Dakota State into what it has become. I'm sure Dan Jackson will get us back on track, but there's a lot of building blocks that have come unraveled. All I can say is don't blink, because it seems like a lot longer than a year ago, since I stood on the field in Frisco, gazing at that hardware being hoisted into the Texas sky.

So if you were offered a million dollars you wouldnt take it because “nobody needs a million dollars to make a living”. There is something called retirement and a million dollars can sure help make that easier.

I said nobody needs MILLIONS of dollars to make a living. I come from a farm family, where retirement means you work less than you did when you were younger.

Just stop. This thread is dumb.
                1. Gives us a bad look as a fanbase. And the whining is starting to border on Bisonville embarrassing. Parents are watching. Recruits are watching here, Twitter, Facebook
                2. Every single one of us is taking that promotion or.new job. Sign me up.
                3. sometimes we forget Players also took a chance on SDSU, and maybe SDSU let them down somehow. Crazy thought. But that is possible.
                4. You can all still love Jackrabbit Football....jesus i know most of you werent around during Wayne Hansel's tenure or even Daly's, but winning seasons were all we had. A win over Augie, a win over USD, and life was good. If us "old folks" could hang on thru all that, we.can hang on thru this and get to the top again
With fans like this who needs enemas.....

I think the part to remember is we are alumni and or friends of sdsu love this place with as much love as a fan can give a university. Remember players usually chose the coach they want to play for not just the university......it usually isn't until after they graduate or move on that those players loyalty then switches to the university, not the coach. Many former players I know love sdsu and doesn't matter who the coach is now. But it was a certain coach that first brought them in. S0 Kraft and Goedert etc I imagine will feel a certain sense of pride of Sdsu no matter who the coach is. With current players, it's the wild west out there and knowing what is the right thing to do and the best thing to do, is as complicated that we will never truly know unless we have a family member going through uncertain times like now at sdsu. I am sdsu loyal so the decision I think would be easy for me, but I can't imagine the pressure players face year in and year out.

I trust our leaders at sdsu and the new head coach. There are plently of coaches who would love to continue to build success at sdsu. I Wish the new staff was 100% and able to keep as many current players but this is a bump in the road, not a total rebuild.

Agree this thread is content that I would expect to be fodder for “other” boards - )you know the ones).

We could wring our hands about missed/bad calls by refs, play calling or defensive adjustments in either NDSU game this past year but how’s it going to further our cause? Coaches and players all have had to do that - that’s their job.

Jackrabbit nations’ strength must lie in “shining light on what’s right” and building our product up rather than tearing it apart in a fit of rage because someone “wronged us.”

Look at the sum/majority of the comments of Jacks Nation through the nutty past week and I think we can agree we are better served getting behind the admin, new staff, new/existing players. We need to be mature enough to thank our past players and coaches and wish them the best as they move on.

There will be time for conversations when uncomfortable things need to be discussed but our energy is better spent lifting the Jacks up and encouraging each other to remain positive. As fans, we can do that by building enthusiasm in the region with a fan base that’s going to support our NIL initiatives, that’s going to fill seats for December playoff games the same way they do for warm fall games. Invite a new fan or donate tickets to a neighbor.

When the Division I experiment was launched, our leaders looked at Georgia Southern and other similar programs/champions that had their affairs (facilities and such) in order to produce championships.

We have done that as we are now blessed with facilities second to none. What we as a fanbase need to do is put our energy toward how we will match Montana and their fans passion by filling their stadium no matter the day. Granted in a community of 25,000 it’s a challenge but we have to think purse the box and have a product to sell.

It’s a new day Jackrabbits. Rather than stare at the rear view mirror - let’s focus on the windshield and how we can make the future even better.
