The 10/28 Jimmy Rogers Show included Robbie Rouse and Amar Johnson, as the asst. coach and player guest, respectively.

    Coach Rouse discussed:
    • history of leadership in the RB room (from Strong, to Davis, and now to Amar Johnson)
    • resilience of Angel Johnson after the 'Yote scoop and score last night
    • appreciation for the fans backing the Jacks and creating an "electric" game environment
    • increased physical running style of Amar Johnson this season
    Amar Johnson mentioned:
    • SDSU being his first visit and immediate commitment afterward
    • Maintaining contact with Davis & how he observed Strong's preparation
    • Adding 10lbs of muscle and physicality of his running style
    • Similarities and differences between his stiff arm and Davis'
    • Depth in the RB room
      • He focused on similarities between Woods' cutback run vs. Augie and how Amar used to have similar "cutback style" as a freshman
    • The TD in OT, Brenner's block, and the unnecessary review
    • Appreciation for fan support
    Jimmy Rogers noted:
    • The roller coaster nature of the game vs. 'Yotes
      • Later noted that Davis' playcalling on first couple drives deviated from 'Yotes' tendencies, which Jimmy attributed at least somewhat to Davis being aware of what Jacks' defense schemed for
    • "Training" the Jacks' players for media interactions
      • he and Tyler focused on Spalding, in saying that he was "doing his 1/11"
    • Angel Johnson's positive response following the fumble
    • The decision to go for it on 4th down in OT
    • Gronowski meeting Rogers' challenge to step up in the pocket after not doing that as much vs. Bison
    • Jacks can still improve throughout the season (and how they
    • Ripperda and Vorhees should return to lineup shortly
    • Woods will likely play vs. Murray State
    • Ended with emotional appreciation for players like Bock and Gronowski
      • This was in response to it looking like Bock would've shattered Rozeboom's tackle record (475) prior to a couple injuries but Bock still attaining 402 career tackles vs 'Yotes (4th most in Jacks history) while being unselfish and not caring about individual records while still striving for an NFL career

Jacks mixed it up on today's Jimmy Rogers Show and starting with the player guest, Steven Arrell, who focused on:
      • his recruitment and Gardner, Gales', and Beanum's mentorship
      • the support the community offers
      • and how Communication Studies courses have improved his ability to express himself
        • I learned that Kris Kracht teaches classes at SDSU, which I was unaware of
Matt Jacobs, strength & conditioning coach, was the asst. coach guest who commented on:
      • importance of depth and preparation throughout the depth chart
      • his strategy to "train QBs like LB" due to the physical nature of the Jacks' playcalling
      • diligence of players and coaches in tailoring conditioning regimens to players and how that adapts throughout season
      • importance of his family to his success
      Coach Rogers mentioned:
      • Unique arrangement of Alerus Center that essentiallly has them walking through kitchen area to get onto field
      • how the stat sheet illustrated multiple defenders "doing their jobs' b/c no one had a monopoly on tackles
      • Gronowski's punt being the result of unique circumstances, the crux of which was Rogers wanting to avoid punting to Belquist
        • My Jackrabbit app crashed in the middle of this discussion, so I would definitely recommend listening to the "on demand" replay for that full commentary
          • Has anyone else had issues with that app crashing lately?
      • Vorhees being a FB in a RB's body, but he might not ever get back to 100 percent this season
      • Jacks' prowess on timing blitzes
      • Levi Vanden Bos walking for Senior Day despite not being a senior b/c he is returning to help his dad on ranch
      • requesting the officials' report to inform strategy vis a vis what the officials have called in other games
        • This included a reference to McCormick's handful of People's Elbows last year
      • Salukis' just completing their largest comeback in team history to defeat the 'guins last week
      • how not all of the seniors on the roster will be leaving next season
        • He said he'd leave us in anticipation re. the dynamics there
Next week's Jimmy Rogers Show will air on 11/21

Caleb Francl should be one of those listed as a senior who could return if he chooses to. His situation is identical to Mark - first played in the spring Covid season and missed an entire season due to injury. It would be a huge boost to next season's defense to have a player of his skill set return.

That would certainly be a welcome return.

I am quite sure I just heard that Caleb is returning next year, which is awesome.

Well Francl did not participate in Senior Day, so I would think he is staying. Cale Reeder did not walk on Senior Day, it would be nice to have him back also. No. 22 Colby Humphrey and No. 54 Jalen Lee did not walk either. The more the merrier as far as I am concerned.

Is there a list of who did walk and received recognition Saturday?

DT Max Baloun also didn't walk. That would make 4 defensive starters that do not need to be replaced, which would be huge. OT Marcus Hicks, who is listed as a senior, also didn't walk. It's hard to know where he is eligibility wise as he only played 3 games total at Oklahoma in 2021 and 22, but was there for 4 years.
