  • UNI Week

Kickoff is 4:00 pm in the UNI Dome, Cedar Falls, IA. Listen to Tyler Merriam and crew on WNAX and the Jackrabbit Network stations—starting with the pregame show at 2:00. Or, watch on Midco Sports and ESPN+.

It’s guaranteed Coach Farley will have his team ready to play. The Panthers started slowly this season but they’ve clawed back to possible postseason contender. The Jacks can spoil UNI’s post-season hopes.

I started watching UNI v SDSU in the NCC Days when Stan Sheriff guided the Panthers as Coach and then as the Athletic Director who led UNI into Division 1 in the late 1970s.

Playing UNI is always a challenge. I’m picking the Jacks but this one isn’t decided until late: SDSU 14, UNI 10.

UNI gave up 485 passing yards Saturday against SIU. I would be very disappointed if the Jacks can't put up more than 14.

I don't like the sound of that, but I understand the rationale.

Hopefully the Jacks take a lead into half, gain separation in 3rd quarter and coast to at least a 28-10 victory.

i can see us holding then to 10 points. But we score 31. So 31-10 it is.

I see us scoring at will and them scoring more than we are used to, but not enough to be close. I'll go 47-26 Jacks.

I see it being 14-14 at half. Then we do to them what we do to other teams in the second half and win 35-14.

Uni always throws wrinkles at us and we struggle with it. Farley knows how to chsmange things up to be competitive against us.

I could've sworn a former Jacks player recounted an incident with Farley when both Panthers and Jacks were recruiting him, and Farley made a flippant comment to him after he committed to the Jacks (something like "have fun finishing 2nd or 3rd in the Valley'). I can't find anything about it online, but I thought maybe it was Kyle Sheehan after he left Purdue.

Anyone else remember hearing that in a fairly recent podcast?

By all rights and the pattern the Jacks have established with dominating third quarters, Steel's prediction should be correct. I hope my low-ball 14-10 Jackrabbit win is totally wrong but I'm going conservative for this game as the Panthers always give the Jacks a battle. [And, I have to admit -- I don't know what I'm talking about! ]

i gotta say, UNFORTUNATELY for you, it seems like i might be starting to rub off on you

be very careful or next thing you know you're gonna be using too many caps and admitting that you are doing nothing but making guesses

i think that is probably better than making predictions that come right once in a million and making up crazy ice cream flavors though? at least you did not catch that yet)))

i think loving sdsu ice cream is inevitable? isnt it??

it is just some of the flavor creations you come up with that might be wrong)! ya know, just every once in a while OR slightly more often than you get a prediction correct))
