Great win in a tough environment, especially after back-to-back rivalry games. The Jankes, Gronowski and Stalbird are among those who had big games. I sure hope Bock isn't hurt badly and that Davis, Freeman and other injured players heal quickly and are available for the Hobo Day game vs. Indiana State. The Jacks are going to be one heck of a playoff team if they can win a couple more conference games and get reasonably healthy in the process. This space for lease.

WOW that is right up there with some of the toughest circumstances to deal with that i have come across, (had plenty of kids get punched in the balls while in the pile) but you are totally correct. in sports LIKE LIFE there are times when you MUST CONTROL your emotions and make good choices. and that is one of my absolute favorite things about sports!! they give so so so many opportunities to practice things that help these kids to be better humans in the real world!!
good coaches, WHICH STIG ABSOLUTELY IS, prioritize teaching their kids these lessons and absolutely expect them to become better people
lots of coaches think it is all about their win and loss record and could care less what their kids do as long as they can help them to win games
and finally, i will allow a small chance, "maybe" i am wrong, but i have been to athletic events in grand forks before and i have never been at an event where it did NOT feel like, between their team and their crowd, a fight could break out at any moment. SO I REALLY have NO DOUBT that crap was going on the WHOLE GAME
do you really think they were not doing that crap when they jumped out to a lead? and that is where the REFS played a big role in allowing frustration and tough emotions to build. THERE IS NO WAY that und should have NOT had some penalties and getting away with that crap the whole game only made it worse

back to back rivals
and back to back to back regional rivals, AND 2 or the 3 opponents had a bye week the week before the jacks so LOTS of opportunity to scheme different game plans specifically for the jacks
i want to think that more teams have their bye a bit earlier so we are LESS likely to get another one of these scenarios, and yet somehow i will NOT be even a tiny bit surprised if someone says that UNI has a bye next saturday. that seems about par for the course

Panthers bye is sandwiched between Jacks game and road finale vs. 'Yotes. Their next game is against Salukis in Carbondale.

Related note, Midco obviously has cameras to spare so let's move some from the sideline to endzones (and offer the replay review official discounted internet if s/he limits reviews to plays that are truly suspect)

Wow I might have a heart condition by the end of this season. The jacks definitely have some grit. I think the number one is how long is Bock out for?
It looked the majority of the game und had the LOS loaded and 8-9 in the box daring mark to win with his arm, and he did, not big numbers but good numbers.(0 ints) Bubba definitely had a good game plan on us and made things uncomfortable early on. But seriously how can we have so many false starts it’s beyond aggravating. I want to give a shout-out to under armour they make some tough jerseys I’m shocked that our Dline had whole jerseys with all the amount of cloth und had in their hands. It look like more of a wrestling match than blocking.
I know we had some dumb unsportsmanlike calls but we cannot retaliate. There definitely some issues with the biased refs. I understand the Spaulding hit as a Lb hustling it’s hard to pull back, but get up and go back to the huddle act like you’ve been there. And do all **** talking after.
Glad we got the W an get the F out of ND with a sweep.
And does anyone know where I can donate $ for rehab and injury prevention equipment.Go Big Go Blue ..... Go Jacks

I’m looking forward to watching replay of the game with focus on some of the calls against the Jacks. Part of the answer to why the penalties were so lopsided is an analysis of the question “what are we doing to attract such attentions from the stripes?”
I hope some of the reporting on Spaulding’s penalty is inaccurate. The guy’s is a warrior and we need him playing football, not risking getting sidelined for attracting the attention of the refs.
Good to get out of Grand Forks with the victory. Need to heal up some Jacks and get ready for a potential record-crowd Hobo Day. (Our win/loss record on Hobo Day in recent years needs some improvement.)

One issue I have with the penalties is that Bryant, the Hawks' OL, came running into the group after Spalding's targeting and shoving Jacks players, some who had their backs to the play (thereby risking injury) and doesn't get flagged, but McCormick did get penalized for completing a block prior to whistles being blown [play begins at 2:29:55 (granted, there did appear to be potential hands to the face)] with little to no injury potential.

i know you do not like the salukis but i think i would not mind seeing the salukis whoop uni and maybe put some doubt in their thinking, but ultimately it probably does not matter a lot and you could make an argument for the value of either team winning that game

My "jury's still out" re. Schweigert, and I'm not a fan of Farley. However, I think Farley's coaching/roster construction helps ensure UNI is relegated to Valley's 2nd tier of relatively consistent playoff qualifiers.
Back to Salukis, I don't necessarily despise them, although Labanowitz irked me. If Hill left, I'd have no problem strategically rooting for them if/when it'd help the Jacks.
