Forget high profile recruits, are we going to have any left at all? of our 19 scholarship recruits JI only has 4 of them confirmed as coming back. Its pretty clear by looking at their Twitter profiles that there are a number of them on their way out. At this point I am just hoping to keep the local kids and anything else is gravy.

Alabama signing a Weber State TE transfer ultimately could have implications on the Jacks tight ends they were interested in.

Meetings/Interviews must be over for the day. Eids and Jackson are on twitter. They've both followed Nate White.RB Wisconsin (twitter) 3 years eligibility

And Mark to Iowa is official per Thamel. What a twist

Gronowski to ESPN: "It's a great coaching staff. With Coach (Tim) Lester being there and being in the NFL last year and bringing an NFL offense to Iowa, it's a great opportunity to develop as a player, learn an NFL offense and win a lot of games."

Wishing Mark nothing but the best. Hopefully he can turn around the offensive system where QB's go to die.

Decommit from Donovan Fitzmaurice (twitter) . Cooper is following him (and Dalton from before) but he has too many recent WSU follows including current non-SDSU WSU players, some WSU commits we wouldn't know, plus Francl and Baloun

    His blurb from gojacks:
    DONOVAN FITZMAURICE
Fitzmaurice received all-state recognition during both his junior and senior seasons at Marquette High School. During the recently completed 2024 season, he registered 60 total tackles (35 solo), including 21 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. He also blocked nine kicks and forced and recovered a pair of fumbles.

His future plans also include majoring in exercise science.

Coach Rogers' Comments: "Donovan is a violent defensive lineman who has great power, speed and bend to impact our defense immediately."

I know Grahams dad well. he actually reminds me of Jimmy in many ways. from the things I have seen / read Graham say, I see a lot of his dad's character in him. he was a safety in HS. dont know how much weight he has put on since? I feel like this is a kid who could be very special. we will see if he plays safety or LB

he had scholarship offers from a lot of schools smaller than Iowa including us and ndsu.

DC at Iowa Western CC on twitter: "You did not put that out there. Ha Congrats Cam!"

Cam: Only right coach Laughing Emoji Heart Emoji

I misunderstood it. Could Cam's coach be a former Jackrabbit? Points to the fan who can correctly identify this individual without cheating!

DC at Iowa Western is Mike Blackbourn, who played LB for the Jacks in early 2000's. Not sure if he was #51, but assume maybe so based on this interaction?

Do you think they can’t put two and two together and think to themselves…wow there aren’t any running backs left here maybe I should stay but still decided to leave? They aren’t robots. They all have family and friends besides Jimmy and their position coaches who they talked to to make this decision. Again I’m not thrilled with the players leaving but it’s not like Jimmy blindfolded them and kidnapped them against their will.
I made zero accusation of Jimmy doing anything like kidnapping
and this is probably a pretty clear example of the charisma and people skills that Jimmy has. what I said is totally true. it would be dumb to pay 3 RBs when you have limited funds. it also makes no sense playing wise to follow a staff that produced a mediocre offense and be potentially the #3 RB when you could play for a coach who has produces a lot of statistically excellent RBs and be the #1 guy

but they chose to go with Jimmy with honestly going with Jimmy was really the only good thing about it
all of them moved far from family to a place that will not be easy or cheap for family to see them
all of them have less reason to believe they will be THE GUY
all of them will play for an OC who has never proven a thing

but they get to play for Jimmy and i can only guess that is why they did it. i guess trueblue apparently knows Angel and says he wants to play for the position coach and the OC. i guess the others could feel the same. but that is what we are saying they are going for loyalty to the coaches and basically nothing else about it makes sense

i hope they loyalty to those coaches pays off. if the coaches had the same loyalty to the players they might have pointed out some of the things they would be giving up and told they to give some real thought to what place might be the best for them

and before you say it, YES, I was a coach and YES, I did advise my players to think about what was best for them even if it might not be best for me. so YES, I would like to see the same from other coaches including Jimmy

and along those lines, I KNOW Stig acted the same way i am describing. I know that he wished well for many players who chose something other than coming to or staying at SDSU. i can think of one example of a defensive player who Stig and coaches believed could would be a good player for them. but he had some personal difficulties and Stig encouraged him to move to a school closer to home and his family becasue that would be best for him even if it might not have been best for Stig

I love Jimmy. i will move past all this. but I do not think it is some terrible thing to say that we disagree with some of the choices or actions here. i love my son too, but it does not mean that I dont tell him if i think he is making a questionable decision

As far as RB transitioning, the high is Cam Skattebo. The low is the former Montana standout Isaiah Ifanse who was 3rd string on Cal and finished with 70 carries for 365 yards two years after racking up 1623.

Angel played at SDSU for 4 years and won 2 rings the NFL probably isn’t in his future so if he can go get paid for one last year good for him. Hopefully he has success and next year is everything he wants it to be.
