Those pesky MACs and MWCs and Sun Belts and C-USAs having been weeded out of the big boys' private party, the sixty or so now-FBS schools which are frozen out of the Too Big Division will get to/have to organize their own new Division I (or whatever) under the NCAA. They might be okay just staying at around 60 schools in their division, or they will look to add some number of the more healthy FCS programs in some way. If they want to add more than three or four FCS programs, the 15,000 average attendance requirement will need to be modified.
But take this with the large grain of salt, representing the fact that I'm pulling this completely out of thin air. I don't think anybody really knows what college football at all levels will look like this time next year. The changes could be minimal, or the changes could be significant.
