I may have missed it being posted about elsewhere, but I thought Stu did a good job with the UCA game article. It wasn't buried due to the late game either. My only critique is that there was no mention of our last three oponents being ranked.

SLC conference taken care of, next up GWFC.

I'm all about winning with class and losing with class.  I think those who post on this board and our student-athletes, by and large, are examples of this philosophy.  That being said, I was not impressed with the UCA fans with the exception of UCABEARS75.  I'm not trying to rub this win in anyone's face, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't take a little pleasure in their fans eating a little crow.  That level of arrogance and lack of respect for a team is quite similar to our neighbors down south.  I think UCA's fans got what was coming to them after downplaying our wins against their own conference.  I suspect the conference schedule will be much more difficult for the Bears than they are anticipating.

Thank you for the kind words. Please do not think all our fans are so arrogant and misinformed about college football. We have some who would rather talk smack than have fun discussions but most of us down here are nice people, just like they are in your wonderful state.

Once again, I will be rooting for the jacks the rest of the season and I believe the bears and jacks both have some good wins ahead of us.

Stu's article was weak, at best. No quotes from either side. Should have been quotes from both coaches, several of our players, and maybe even a fan or too. Could have commented on the fund raising and what the Beef Bowl is all about. Could have done a segment on the "Backyard". Coulda, shoulda, woulda. Forget about Stu, he doesn't cut it. I'd say forget about the Argus but I'll give this new guy a chance first.

I noticed the Jacks FB team gathering in front of the students and I believe giving them some thanks for the support. Can anyone elaborate on that?

I know the volleyball team started to do that last year and the soccer team has also done it for a number of years. Having been to games at a number of other schools, it is a common tradition that I hope catches on at SDSU. It will be even better when more fans realize what is going to happen and stick around to partake in the school spirit. I am sure it is much more fun for the student athletes after a win than after a loss, but taking the time to thank the fans is NEVER a bad thing.
