yah he is 79 And he can’t forget the 1958sectional high school basketball game between Yankton and Beresford. Beresford won and Beresford’s big gun was the SDSU grad, the late Joe Thorne, who later gave his life in Vietnam. Joe had very athletic build and was a three year starter for SDSU at fullback.

I think if its an ex nfl player Timmerman would be the obvious choice. I mean, he did play on the super bowl winning teams with Desmond Howard. I'm sure someone could find a pic of those 2 together in packer uniforms to put on the air. If its not an ex nfl I think they go with someone with no ties to SDSU but who is well known across the country

Just a comment: It's Gabrielle Union who has the nephew on SDSU's basketball team. Aunty Gabrielle, an Omaha native, was a good athlete in her own right (very good point guard and also ran track and played soccer for her high school in California) in addition to being smart, articulate and easy on the eyes. in one of her early films -- can't remember the name and too lazy to look it up -- she played a college basketball player.

Ben Leber, while a Vermillion native, is in the region as is Chad Greenfield.

I'm still going with Dana Dykhouse. How many College GameDays had a stadium as the guest picker? Dana has a good sense of humor too so the banter with the show's hosts would be pretty entertaining. Can you imagine the FargoDome sitting in for an interview? Buncha red bricks with nothing to say unless the announcer inside the place give it prompts.

I'd like to see the Bum mobile lead the Game Day bus into Brookings, a Bum escort similar to a police escort (Keystone cops?) into town, maybe Jack in it, would be a very unique entrance into town as most colleges don't have a vehicle associated with their University like we do...lots of Blue in Brookings...will be a fun time.

Who are we talking about?

I mentioned Dwyane Wade would be the guest picker because his nephew is on the Jacks roster and his wife, Gabrielle Union, was guest picker in Lincoln earlier this year. Then I was informed that Torren is Gabrielle's nephew but not Dwyane's. Doesn't make sense to me. My wife's brother's son is still my nephew. Not sure why he wouldn't be Dwyane's.
