Brookings is just outside of the Winter Weather Advisory, but will still be getting 2-4" on Saturday.

Re: WIU in the Cold, Cold, Cold

Made it to Brookings yesterday. As the saying goes you have to be there to truly understand it. I now see why there are so many South Dakota plates in Arizona during the winter. Looking forward to Cubbys tonight and the game tomorrow. Thanks for all the advice..

Re: WIU in the Cold, Cold, Cold

Forecast looks promising. Wind is not predicted to blow more than 10 mph. The snow will be a non-factor as it expected to fall over 10-12 hours and accumulate at total of < 2 inches according to the scientists at NOAA. My advice, don't listen to the weather entertainers on the TV or internet. They like to hype it up.

Planning to head up in the AM and catch the Gophers vs OSU game at 11 am, maybe tailgate for a bit, hit the Hobo Hangout and then enjoy the elements. With no wind and a temp of 20 degrees it will be easy to keep warm if dressed properly.

Wasn't Cable a theater major?? I kid....maybe. Sioux Falls is looking at 3-4 inches. When in doubt err on the high side, it creates more unnecessary worry.

Surprised that no one has brought this up yet, but there's a chance to get out of the cold for a bit for you people tailgating and check out the S-JAC at the same time.

Weather guys in Sioux Falls for all channels get giddy any time their is snow in the forecast. You can usually drop the predicted snow fall totals in half by the time it is all said and done with.

For sure. We call them weather terrorists. If this is global warming, I'll take the old days when it wasn't so snowy and cold!

Unless it is in the spring. Then the Weather guys/gals go the other way and we get huge snow that they somehow miss forecast. I remember some spring games that had to be moved due to snow.

Enjoy cubbies. My favorite place to eat when we come to brookings. In fact we will be there to eat before the basketball game today.
