Good Deal for Coach Moore! Really was an impressive coach and is quite athletic. He coached at Sully Buttes High School for a couple years and also coached Arena League football in Wyoming.

I was in the Navy and did not learn any Army tricks. Kidding aside, I agree Coach Moore was a fine individual and probably knew as much as anyone about Special Teams. Sometimes it more execution than coaching. He had some great individuals to work with, but being on special teams is not the most desired thing to want, so motivation is something you have to provide to the players. For the most part, it did happen at SDSU under Coach Moore.

LOL, you do realize FIU is FBS, right? This is a HUGE promotion for him, and could be a big step toward replacing Stig one day...

I am quite rational, I assure you. Why you continue to defend him is beyond me.

For the most part, our special teams were an f'ing train wreck last year. Did u not watch the same games I did? The fake punt call and subsequent disaster at EWU broke the camels back for me.

Oh, but we returned a punt for a touchdown? The other team was so out of position I could have ran that one in.

FIU is FBS, great observation. Did you also know they were 1-11 last year and in Conference USA? They are a bottom dweller in a sh$tty conference. Huge promotion? I beg to differ.

I'm sure he tried his hardest, but he didn't cut it. I say good riddance. Bring on another piece of meat.

While stepping up to FBS is nice, FIU is not a very good program at the FBS level. They just finished off a 1-11 season with the only win coming from a 1-11 CUSA team. Granted it was the first year of Ron Turners tenure at FIU and he inherited a bad team so maybe they can turn the program around.

According to Wikipedia, a promotion is the advancement of an employee's rank or position in an organizational hierarchy system. Please explain how moving to a higher level while retaining the same title is anything other than a promotion??? You were saying something about being rational...

I did know FIU was 1-11 last year. Did you know it was Ron Turner's first year there, and FIU's first year in Conference USA? Did you know Illinois went 0-11 Ron Turner's first year there, and 4 years later won the Big 10? Turner has over 10 years of NFL coaching experience. I guess I'll defer to his judgement on what makes a quality Special Teams coach.

Also, C-USA had 6 bowl teams this year (with two more garnering enough wins to be bowl eligible). They went 3-3.

The Big 10, for comparison, had 7 bowl teams this year. They went 2-5.

So ya, really crappy conference. I guess when you're a terrible coach, you take what you can get.
