    Re: Butler - Home Opener

Here is a little from the Indy Star

    http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dl...=2013308260030

    NCAA Championship Subdivision Non-ScholarshipButler Bulldogs

Last year’s record: 8-3, tied for first in the Pioneer Football League.

Coach: Jeff Voris (41-37 in seven seasons at Butler; 56-71 in 12 seasons overall).

    Returning starters: Offense - 9, Defense - 8

Key returnees: QB Matt Lancaster (217-361-3, 2,708 yds., 21 TDs; 111 carries-408, 3.7 avg., 8 TDs); RB Trae Heater (166-1,103, 6.6 avg., 10 TDs); WR JT Mesch (45-575, 12.8 avg., 3 TDs); G David Tiwari; DE Jeremy Stephens (71 tackles, 14.5 for loss, 8.5 sacks); CB Sean Grady (84 tackles, 2 INTs); S Jayme Szafranski (81 tackles).

Outlook: Hopes are high around the Butler Bowl with 17 starters back, including Lancaster, an experienced dual-threat quarterback. Throw in a 1,000-yard rusher back in Heater and the Bulldogs have the potential to score a lot of points. If the defense improves – and it should with so much experience back – another Pioneer Football League championship trophy might be on its way to the city’s Northside.

    Schedule
    Aug. 31 – at South Dakota State; Sept. 7 – Wittenberg; Sept. 14 – at Franklin; Sept. 21 – Dartmouth; Sept. 28 – at Jacksonville; Oct. 5 – Stetson; Oct. 12 – Campbell; Oct. 19 – Drake; Oct. 26 – at San Diego; Nov. 2 – at Dayton; Nov. 9 – Valparaiso; Nov. 16 – at Morehead State.

Agreed. This Butler team is as far under the radar as one can get, yet they return 17 starters and have received Top-25 votes. I expect our guys are not buying into their own hype (and the 33 point spread) and will come out with a sharp performance. If they don't, this game could definitely have us on the edge of our seats.

28-10 good guys win. Zenner with 150 plus yards, Summer 2 TD passes and Cam takes snap in the flash for a TD. I am looking forward to this team taking the field. feels like its been to long since we watched them last year. Hope the weather doesnt stay to hot out but doesnt look to rain so that will be good.

I'm in the same boat. I couldn't find anything on gojacks.com related to ticket age.

          Anyone?

I see that SDSU is favored by a lot but in Football Gameplan's preseason poll they have Butler in their "other receiving votes" category. That would mean that they are guessing that they might finish the season as the 28th(about) best team in the country. I think some of that is that they are supposed to win their conference so they should pick up a lot of wins but to have them rated that high there should be more to it than that.

The basketball rules were that preschoolers were free and needed a lap. I took grandson from preschool and up.

we bought an extra season ticket for our 2 year old son. since the wife is pregnant again we figured we needed the extra room so that way we didnt totally annoy everyone around us. he did good as a 1 year old but now he wants to be more independent so we got the seat. not sure about 3 and 4 year olds. I know its expensive for an extra ticket but we felt rather crowded with him in our laps last year so we figured it was a good investment. I dont rememebr what SDSU policy is for tickets for kids so cant help you there.

If you want a seat you need a ticket regardless of age. I think 4 and under can get in free if they sit on a lap or just run free. I might be wrong it may only be 2 and under. We buy our kids the Junior Jacks membership every year so its never been an issue. I still buy them season tickets as well so they can have a seat with us. If you are on a budget and like to sit in GA Junior Jacks is a good deal. $40 for the year and they get into almost every game for free in GA as well as several other perks.

I called the TO yesterday, they confirmed my 4 yr old would not need a ticket for football or basketball.

General rule of thumb, if they are small enough for a lap, they don't need a ticket, that is, until they hit Junior Jack age (kindergarten).

I plan on enrolling my kids as Junior Jacks when they hit kindergarten anyhow, so that'll take care of that, (for basketball anyway.)

thanks for the info. i was wondering how it worked if they are a junior jack and get in free but if we get season tickets....thanks. yeah our 2 year old and a pregnant wife just needed more room so we got room for him to sit even though he will spend plently of the game running around underneath the stands with the bigger kids.

Good to read (and listen to) some news and information on the game! I think a 12,000+ crowd is realistic.

I'm getting pretty excited for Saturday. We have the tailgate menu laid out and I'm starting to check supplies. Gameday can't get here soon enough.
