Someone mentioned not wanting to make a 7hr drive to sit in suspect weather. Well I will be leaving 84 degree weather hear in Arizona to 45 possible 52 degree weather and I cant wait.. I have my Jackrabbit tailgate training wheels on so I would definitely appreciate any info that would help me on game day..
In addition to the Chain Gang's spot, which is a great place, the player's parents have a spot in th NW corner of the tailgate area. You may want to start there to meet some of the other parents and then if you're interested come over to the Chain Gang's.

Go Big, Go Blue, Go Jacks!!!

PS.You won't have any trouble finding The Chain Gang spot. There's a Chain Gang sign and a yellow and blue fence around the area!
Go Big, Go Blue, Go Jacks!!!

I expect there will be ads supporting the Jackrabbits. I didn't say I was opposed to the promotion just making others aware. The renewal of the rivalry has a great deal of potential and if it results in increased exposure to the programs, Summit league and MVFC as well as all of FCS, DI all stand to benefit.

I didn't expect the USD poem to be considered so smack-worthy. Sorry. I guess I shouldn't have prefaced it with the words "Smack. Smack. Smack." My bad.

Hey, I don't know where the Chain Gang tailgate folks get their pulled pork, but it's amazing. At least it was at Hobo Day. My God, that was great. I meant to post that earlier. If it's homemade, I want that recipe.

The Jacks shouldn't need any motivation this weekend. The playoffs are on the line. If we can't win a game against a one-win team, well...we don't deserve a spot. Let's roll 'em!
Grumbling along and embracing my role. If I didn't care, I wouldn't care. Go Jacks!

I'm not sure why they would rate Illinois State ahead of SDSU. It's a concern though. If we win we should be in but we lost our chance to guarantee a spot when we lost in Fargo. We need to be big Bison fans this weekend to give Illinois State another loss. If that happens (assuming we beat TLR-HS-C Saturday) then the only way we aren'y in is if they only gave the Valley one spot. That's not going to happen.

Daily Dose: USD Can Erase A Lot Of Bad ‘12 Memories With Win On Saturday

The University of South Dakota sits at 1-9 overall and 0-7 in its debut season in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. In other words, not much has gone right in Coyoteland.

Still, there’s a chance for USD to erase most of those frustrations with one win. One victory.

With South Dakota State needing a win to make the FCS playoff field, the Coyotes can certainly play spoiler on Saturday in Brookings. And in fell swoop, they can also put a positive capper on an otherwise miserable campaign.

Isn’t the most dangerous team one that has nothing to play for?

If that’s true, the Jackrabbits — at 7-3 and 5-2 overall — could be in for a battle. Everybody in the region, and certainly most everyone in the state, acknowledges SDSU as the obvious favorite. The Jacks will be expected to win.

That will be a topic of conversation around the DakotaDome this week, how the Coyotes will scheme to upset the Jackrabbits and spoil their playoff hopes. Joe Glenn, himself a former player and coach in this rivalry, probably won’t get much sleep this week as he gears up for another trip to Brookings.................

TSN is a reliable source, this site is not. That said, the loss on Saturday opened us up to the selection process. That makes a convincing win on Saturday that much more important.

                        Re: Coyotes

The athletes and coaches on the field are playing the game for each other. Its that way on both sidelines. Both teams will come into this game with every intention of winning and the added incentive of the pride of the alumni and students at rivalry institutions may motivate some more than others. Some would argue that SDSU has a better VB team than USD, I'd say that may be true but USD has kicked the Jackrabbits butts since moving to DI, not even close. Why? They seemed to want it more and went out a took the W's.

No matter what happens on Saturday I think you are going to see two teams and two coaching staffs giving it their all with one thing in mind, a win that day. I feel privileged that I am able to be in attendance. Looking forward to hard fought, well-played football game and a convincing Jackrabbit victory. SDSU hasn't had many of those this year so I expect it will be a close game and heart and will may make the difference.

                            Re: Coyotes

I don't mean to freak anyone out, but NoBowls.com (which has predicted 70 of the past 72 FCS playoff teams correctly) currently has SDSU predicted to be the first team OUT of the playoffs. This is, of course, assuming the season were to end today. I went back and forth with them via email, and it sounds like even with an 8th win next week, they predict SDSU to be "squarely on the bubble" and suggest we need to root for teams like Villanova, Richmond, Lehigh, Illinois State, James Madison & Wofford to lose in order for our Jacks to slip into the playoffs.

                            Here are their current projections:

                            AUTOMATIC BIDS

                            E. Washington (Big Sky)

                            Stony Brook (Big South)

                            Bethune-Cookman (MEAC)

                            North Dakota St. (MVFC)

                            Appalachian St. (Southern)

                            Central Arkansas (Southland)

                            AT-LARGE BIDS

                            Montana St. (9-1)

                            N. Arizona (8-2)

                            The Bracket: Week 11

Posted November 11, 2012 at 3:23 PM EST

Week 11: The Bracket Before the Bracket

Feeling a little unsure of your team's postseason chances? You're not alone. The Week 11 scoreboard set up what's sure to be an exciting final week and nervy selection show for many quality teams.
                            Quick Notes
                            • The Big South debacle. While Stony Brook currently holds the auto-bid in this week's bracket with an extra game played in conference at this point, their loss at Liberty Saturday opens the door for Coastal Carolina to take the auto-bid next week.
                            • Who gets the #5 seed? Sam Houston State is getting the love in the polls, but can you give them the seed over a Central Arkansas team that beat them head-to-head? The SoCon is not represented anywhere in the seeds, but can you justify giving it to a 3-loss Appalachian State team or a Georgia Southern team that didn't win the conference auto-bid? At the moment, we'll slide the CAA auto-bid (New Hampshire) into that slot.
                            • The impending 8-3 mega-bubble. When the dust settles at the end of the day this coming Saturday, we're all but guaranteed to see a handful of 8-3 power conference teams fighting for a shrinking number of at-large spots. As history has shown us, expect teams on that bubble with Division II games on the schedule to be on the outside looking in.

Keeping an eight win team from the MVC (with one loss being on the road at NDSU - barely) out of the playoffs would be criminal.

I'm assuming we will send the Yotes home with their tails between their legs. If that does not happen we don't deserve playoff consideration anyway.
