Another stupid tradition in Bisonland. I agree with this guy as well. It always upsets me when Bison fans change the lyrics of our country's anthem. The anthem is played to honor our fallen heros, and to demonstrate unity as one nation. It's the final note before the competition begins.

    Why do they do it?
If you had some traditions, you might understand. j/k...plenty do it, but plenty don't do it. Plenty of vets do it...it is a matter of opinion. I do it, and am proud of it. We are the Bison...we're a bit full of ourselves when it comes to football.

Anyone else think that our offense might be better prepared for the Bison defense than other teams have because our own defense plays a similar style (4-3 with roots in the Tampa 2)? Practicing against it everyday can't be a bad thing, right? Of course, you could say the same about the Bison O vs. the Jacks D.

I'm a vet. I think its disrespectful. But, I guess if that's what turns one's crank, have at it. First Amendment and all.

KU students, many of whom are from the KC area, yell "Chiefs!" at the end of the national anthem during KU basketball games. That's even dumber than what the Bison fans do. Coach Self has made a significant effort to thwart this behavior and it has worked surprisingly well.

if the bison arent that good then how is the rest of the fcs?

that being said i am not expecting a comfortable win. we've had some close ones lately. nearly lost to SIU and MSU gave us a scare. our offense has been very inconsistent and depends way too much on our defense to create turnovers. if our defense doesnt create any SDSU will win. i am expecting a defensive battle for the most part. something like 20-17 or 24-16

the best way to beat our defense is by quickening the pace and going up tempo. our defense subs a lot and relies on our base defense mostly when a team goes no huddle. msu did this a little too late against us. they gave us troubles late in the 4th when they started doing that. it will be interesting to see what our defense focuses on most. most likely zenner and the running game, but they still have to respect sumner and the passing game. i am sure they will be trying to put as much pressure as possible on him to force to him to make quick and uncomfortable decisions. if we allow him enough time to throw and sdsu gets the running game going you guys have a good shot to win. most bison fans should be nervous. we have no idea how our offense is going to perform. we struggled against msu. sdsu is much better.

the bison invented changing the national anthem to and the Home of the (Insert Team Name Here). haha. bison fans like to do that esp. with jack fans in attendance cuz we know how irked some of you get. i honestly dont think its that big of a deal and just an excuse for somebody to point fingers at the other team. my two cents.

ndsubison1: many schools do that (which, in my view, is unfortunate although Constitutionally supportable) and the Bison picked up the nasty habit only in response to UND doing it first.

I personally don't care, but you gotta admit you don't do that just to irk the Jacks fans. GMAFB.

I guess you can chalk me up as one who finds it disrespectful. Other chants and heckling I really dont mind at all. Yelling at refs I guess is fine with me but something like this I think its a disgrace that fans do it. Not just NDSU fans but I would be just as and more disapointed if SDSU did this. Something that should bring unity and allow people to have a moment to know that there is something bigger then the sporting events we love.

Great.... I went to add the Sports Pack to my DirecTV subscription so I can get the game, I am unable to add it because I haven't had DirecTV for 4+ Months. Looks like I will be calling the NDSU Ticket Office at 8AM tomorrow now!

                              Edit.
And just like that there is a way around everything. I better have the game on TV now!

I know the game is on FCS on Directv but just to be safe does anyone know of places in Sioux Falls that would have the game on??

My guess would be a Buffalo Wild Wings or maybe Rookies
